A bit on the expensive side but if you want a laptablet in a similar vein to a microsoft surface this is the way to go, its just better in every way. Minor complaint is that the keyboard backlight will turn off often and just not come back on until you cycle the keyboard light button... which can be hard to find in dim light without said backlight, and I have not discovered a fix for this in the over a year I have used the device. Another minor complaint is that the speakers, while good quality and loud, fire out of the sides... so they lose a lot of that clarity and volume, and would not be advisable to use in public, like on a plane; Hopefully the future iterations will have forward firing speakers. Big pluses on thermal design, IO, placement of ports and buttons, quality of build and materials, basically everything else. The storage is easily user servicable as well, only needing one screw to remove a plate to access, which is REALLY nice considering its competitors either do not have expandable storage at all, or you have to take the entire (often glued) back panel off, which never goes on quite the same again. Very nice though, look forward to seeing what these devices will look like from asus in a few more years when I need to upgrade. ... show more

I recently invested in the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 (2022), and let me tell you, it's a gaming powerhouse that seamlessly combines the versatility of a tablet with the performance of a top-tier gaming laptop. The vibrant colors and crisp details are a testament to the device's prowess. Even during prolonged gaming sessions, the laptop maintains optimal temperatures, ensuring peak performance without any noticeable throttling. The quiet operation of the cooling fans adds to the overall user experience. Connectivity and Ports: 5/5 A plethora of ports and connectivity options make the ROG Flow Z13 a versatile device. From USB ports to HDMI and Thunderbolt, it covers all bases. The inclusion of Ethernet for stable online gaming is a thoughtful touch. Battery Life: 4/5 Considering the power packed into this device, the battery life is commendable. While it may not last as long as ultrabooks, it provides sufficient juice for extended gaming sessions or productivity tasks on the go. • Charging Problems and quality issues
Style: Core i7-12700H
The laptop works well enough for moderate to light gaming when it does work. Other than that I've had a lot of issues with this laptop that makes me completely regret buying it. The laptop is charged through either the thunberbolt 4(usb-c) or usb-c port on the devices. The charger that came with the laptop would get dangerously hot when in use. After only a few months of use light use, the charger no longer works in the thunderbolt port and only charges through the usb-c port. A few months later the charger completely fails to charge the computer at all. This is a problem because the laptop will restrict performance unless it senses that an OEM charger is connected. Additionally several of my devices have broke by connecting them to the usb-c port. A usb hub even emitted smoke by connecting it to the laptop. Asus's choice to not just use a normal dc power port is horribly and even dangerously implemented. Lastly another annoyance I've encountered is that the detachable keyboard/trackpad will not work 80% of the time when you reconnect it to the laptop. ... show more

  • All in All, its really nice for what I use it for...
Style: Core i7-12700H
This tablet is pretty fast and smooth for what I use it for, which is mostly as a web browser, Rumble, YouTube, Deluge/Torrent, movie player and bible. With that said, if I have a 10+ tabs open, have a VLC player open in the back ground, then open My Sword app, it will load slowly. Basically, every open tab is like a different app, so when you have several tabs open, it just bogs down the system. I notice, when running 1 app with everything else closed it should be pretty smooth and fast. I assume that it will handle playing a game like, howbeit, I personally have not played any games on it. I use this tablet while OTR (over the road), place in a mount in my truck. While driving, I'll play movies, music, pod casts or something and listen to them. I have ran a small audio cable to the radio, put in a 100w cigarette charger for power, and a usb for tethering my phone to tablet for internet. I bought an after market pen that magnetically holds onto the tablet. Pros: 1. You have a PC at your finger tips, which I personally prefer over android tablets or apple tablet. 2. For my uses, it is more than good enough. 3. After 6 months of daily use, it seems to be as fast as it was when I first got it and keeps cool even in the truck with some direct sun light hitting it (I do keep the truck cool, but direct sun light will warm stuff up). 4. Battery is decent, when I turn the brightness down (60-70%) it will last a good 3 movies (so 5 or 6 hours?) - to extend the battery life, I periodically, unplug the charger and run it down til it warns about low battery, charge it up and repeat the process of charge/drain a day or three later. Cons: 1. Price, its nice and all, but the price IMO it is too much. Truth is, we've had this tech out for so long the price should be going down, not always going up UP and UP!!!! - there is simply nothing "NEW" being added, its a cpu, ram, screen, battery, OS, touch screen and wifi/modem as it as always been for 20+ years now. 2. No RAM upgrade slots, with 16 GB RAM, it is limited, especially running on windows - RAM is one of those quick fix/upgrades that boost the PC/Tablet and this is not an option here. 3. Asus didn't provide a s-pen with this Tablet, if I am not mistaken Microsoft does with their surface thing. So YES, i do recommend it, but only if you get it on sale, at the RETAIL price it is not worth it IMO. ... show more

  • Great Surface Pro alternative
Style: Core i7-12700H
I primarily game using cloud GeForce Now over the cloud, so I don't need an incredibly beefy machine, but I do want something with a dedicated video card for light gaming (ex. Lego Star Wars) when I can't install the games locally, for using Office apps, and basic image editing with Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo. I've had a Surface Pro, recently a Lenovo Yoga, and finally wanted something to game on that I could also travel with (and was affordable). After a bunch of research I'd landed on an Alienware m15 r7 and waited for it to arrive, knowing it'd be big and not have a touchscreen but was upgradeable. While waiting for delivery I came across this ROG Flow z13 and realized it might fit what I really want. Now that it's here and I tried both laptops I'm sticking with the ROG. Great - Can upgrade the SSD drive - Only slightly heavier than my Yoga and runs much quieter and cooler - Fine for running basic games on ultra settings - Fingerprint reader on power button is great - Touchscreen is really responsive - Armoury Crate app is great, providing a lot of options for how the machine runs based on specific apps, RGB effects, and like wallpapers - Runs on USB-C power - Sound quality is excellent Not so Great - Can't upgrade the Ram (I wish it had a 32Gb option) - By default it uses the integrated video to save battery, but I had to mess with Armoury Crate settings to get a game to run using the 3050 card (using Turbo mode), which I wish were out of the box - Screen resolution is fine, but I wish it were slightly higher - Like Surfaces, the keyboard feel is going to be a dust/hair magnet - Still makes more noise than a Surface, but FAR less than any gaming laptop (the Alienware was insanely loud running just app updates) - I mostly stay plugged in, but I'm sure the battery will die in no time when running unplugged - I wish each key had an individual RGB setting, but it's not really critical, and I like that I can have the colors set based on the CPU temp or usage ... show more

  • Powerful 2-in-1
Style: Core i7-12700H
I was looking for a tablet that could properly run MS Excel for work purposes. I travel a lot and also like to game on occasion while sitting in a hotel. The Microsoft Surface Pro 9 just appears to be overpriced for the features and is not capable of handling graphic intensive games. So I was looking for an alternative and stumbled onto the Z13 and it does everything I need it to do at a similar price point. I have realistic expectations and understand everything is a trade off to include battery life, weight savings and performance. When using it during the day I just make certain to put it on battery saving mode. While at the hotel it is plugged in an more than capable of handling the games I play. So great job ASUS and thank you for giving me a viable alternative to the Surface Pro. ... show more
