This a a decent lens. My utility for this type of lens is purely as a long focal length, variable prime lens using manual focus. To manual focus precisely, the lens focus control must be able to function in linear fashion, not non-linear fashion. Precise focus pulls with a follow focus rig must have linear focus control The Lumix S5MIIx menu will allow either linear or non-linear IF a Lumix lens is used. Linear is grayed-out/not supported with the Sigma. I switched to the Lumix 70mm -300mm zoom, and it works beautifully (and, frankly, it's noticeably sharper at the long end on fine detail like a far distant tree line than the Sigma. I ordered the wrong mount version so when I saw that I didn't even open the box. Sigma 100-400 seems to be a great lens from all the reviews. If you get the one that fits your camera. :) I have it 4 stars based on reviews & Amazon's help desk. Thanks to Amazon's great return process, I have the correct model arriving in a couple days.
