I ordered these FOR THE 'FLARES'...and I'm NOT downgrading a review based on a semi-convenient storage bag that I can throw away if it's really so bad. THE FLARES are EXACTLY what I had hoped. These are NOT my first attempt/trial for such emergency/convenience lights....I've had and still enjoy many of such sets (in both this amber color, and blue). I paid MUCH MORE per light with other multi-packs, and these not only far under-price those, but they beat the current competition time and time again. The lights themselves are just the same, which are FANTASTIC and meet my expectations after having the others for many seasons and needs. If you need close to this many or more, I can confidently and highly recommend these with EVERY ONE Of my allowable 5 stars! (Again, if the bag poses issues for you, take out a light or two, and put it in another vehicle or usable location, and suddenly your concerns will be forgotten. jeesh)

Lots of things I like about these. They come with a carrying case, are compact and easy to store away in a vehicle, have a screwdriver included to change the batteries, and they have a lot of light patterns (including an SOS one). I actually plan on throwing a couple of these in my hiking backpack to have on hand. They are a good brightness with brand new batteries. If you wanted to use them and still maintain the best battery life though, I wouldn't choose any of the light settings where the LEDs stay on constantly. I do have a few negatives about them: 1. The zipper on the carrying bag is placed badly. It's right under the handle and it makes it harder to get them out of the bag. 2. The flares themselves aren't super easy to get open. You have to unscrew 2 screws and then find a small tiny tab that you use to pop off the back-plate. I would rather see an easier way to open them. 3. Since these run on batteries I like to test them now and then. I just want to make sure they are working properly and the batteries are still good in them.

This is a really great set of emergency lights that can replace actual flares for road emergencies. Each unit has 12 bright red LED lights arranged circumferentially, and 3 white LEDs on top that function together as a very bright flashlight. There are 9 lighting sequences: the red LEDs have 5 different flashing modes, as well as a bright and dim all on mode, and one 3 segment red LED mode. The white LEDs go on independently on the 9th activation of the power button. There a 3 ways of arranging each "flare" Each unit can be place flat on any surface, each has a strong magnet on the bottom for use on ferromagnetic surfaces, and there is a hook on top for hanging as well. Each light is in a sturdy plastic case that is securely protected by a thick layer of silicone rubber with thick ribs of silicone extending between each red LED. I didn't do a drop test but each unit does seem quite rugged and capable of some abuse (but not of being run over by a vehicle) Each unit is powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included). A Philips screwdriver is provide to open the cases for battery insertion. A good set of instructions is provided as well. These lights are very bright, and the flashing patterns further add to the visibility of the lights. They should suffice to replace the need for traditional road flares. I do highly recommend them.

The emergency light pucks are ok. Bright at night but you need 3 AAA batteries per puck. The worse thing is the bag. The opening is in the center with the carry handle over the opening. Worst design and very annoying. I would look elsewhere for a similar product.

I haven’t had any situation that I needed to use flares but, I did turn a couple of them on and leave them on just to see how long they would last. I was impressed that they lasted for at least 8 hours and were still as bright as they were to begin with and could have lasted longer. They are made very well of plastic and there are different modes you can use to make the flares flash in different ways and they are for sure going to get any on coming traffic attention and let them know they need to slow down. I feel more secure with knowing I have one more tool in my car to help keep me safe in a situation that’s for sure. With twelve of these lights your vehicle will be noticed I’m sure. They come with their own storage bag as well which is nice and the instructions are easy to understand and follow. The bag is a yellow color which would be easy to find when you needed the flares and made of a canvas material. The flares and the bag should last a very long time. I recommend having flares in you car tool kit and these are as good as I’ve seen and the price is not bad at all.

I do wish these light flares were chargeable and didn't need batteries for each light, that being said these are bright and great if you're broken down at night or in low light as well as daytime to help catch people's eyes as sometimes being broken down you can't use your hazard lights or get out of a lane of traffic (accident type break down). They feel sturdy and well made but I'm not going to go out and throw them around to test how well they hold up against that. My main gripe and the reason the 2 stars are missing is the bag, mainly the opening part. The handle for the bag is smackdab atop the zipper and doesn't have much give making taking the lights in and out a real pain and annoying. I'm planning to cut the strap and stitch more length onto it and add a snap buckle to make it easier to access the inside.
