  • Takes getting used to
Size: 12.5FT ( A Button )
The ladder was ordered for the slide out on the camper when we are camping. There is an adjustment period and to be honest if not for the mod that I did I am not sure if I would feel comfortable climbing on it. Our camper has a metal ridge running the length and back of the camper. If you are trying to climb onto the roof it can be scary because the metal ladder wants to slide on the metal ridge of the camper. Twice I almost fell off the ladder. I used some foam pads that I had and made a strap out of them to slide over the top of the ladder when I need it. Now when I use the ladder and it is extended to the position I want I slide on the foam strap to where I think the ladder will lay against the metal ridge. A huge difference, the ladder no longer slides along the ledge like it used to and I can easily get up and down off the roof of the camper with no issues. When I need the ladder to be a smaller length I already put on foam protectors so the ladder would not scratch the fiberglass on the camper when I am leaning it against the camper for like cleaning windows, etc. Collapsing the ladder takes getting used to. Trying to hold in the A buttons on the lower rung when the ladder is extended out to 12 feet is a challenge. Slowly getting used to it. For the price I have no problems with the ladder. The weight is no big deal as I just put the ladder in the vehicle when we take out to go camping and it is there if I need it. The two biggest issues for me was the ladder sliding around when going up on the camper roof and trying to hold it steady when collapsing the ladder. ... show more

  • Very compact and fairly easy to use.
Size: 16.5FT ( A Frame Ladder)
I have a house that is all open beam ceiling, and I recently needed to install a new ceiling fan. My 6 foot wooden ladder leaves me shaking - so I decided to upgrade to a better ladder. I really wanted a telescoping ladder, so I order this. First, some assembly is required and the included instructions are (1) very small to read and (2) very very cryptic. In fact, the instructions stated that the accessory tray came preinstalled, when in fact it was not preinstalled. So... after spending about an hour or so pouring over the manual and examining the unit. I was able to get it put together (one note - even though mentioned in the manual, which I missed - to install the stabilization bar you must FIRST remote the aluminum spacers that are in the slots. This is not apparent at all - though the bar won't install until you take the spacers out. Once put together, extending it the first time was pretty funny. The thing WANTS to extend... so it takes a bit of going side to side to get it to extend without falling over. Not hard, but will take a bit of use to get it fluid. Once extended, it was a good 8 foot A-frame ladder (or can be a 16 foot straight ladder, though I didn't try that).. EXTREMELY STURDY though the accessory tray can't take too heavy of a load (I doubt very much it could take a full gallon bucket of paint, even though it is designed for that). The best part is that I had no fear climbing up to the top, even hauling a big ceiling fan as I did it. Collapsing the unit is even faster than extending it. Once again, once you click the levers in each section, it just wants to collapse. As with extending it, I found it useful to alternate sides so it didn't fall over as I was collapsing it.. It comes with attached straps to secure it once collapsed - which you MUST use or it will start to unfold as you move it from area to area. A bit heavy - but that is what give it the sturdiness in good construction. ... show more

  • Very easy to carry/store!
Size: 12.5FT
Had a contractor use one to get into my attic and I had to have one. Got a 12 1/2 foot telescoping ladder for our vacation house and used it first time to replace the rope on a flag pole in the front yard. Extremely easy to extend. To collapse you have to be very careful to keep fingers to the outside--we leaned it almost level and collapsed the upper end step by step towards the base. Leaning it over almost level keeps each stage from slamming down. All but the final step collapse and leave about a 2 to 3 inch gap, which closes as you collapse the next one (which leaves a 2 to 3 inch gap for that step). When you collapse the final step, it collapses completed down, so be very careful not to have your fingers in the way. Has a nylon strap that goes over all the steps and closes with a clip like a dog collar has, The strap can be further tightened if needed. Then its very easy to carry and stick in a closet or shed. Can use an internal house closet since its so small when collapsed. I like it A LOT. Would definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Did the job I needed it to do
Size: 12.5FT ( A Button )
Pros: Stable telescoping ladder. Easy to use. Easy to adjust rungs to desired height. Cons: The plastic feet on the ladder are terrible—cheap! (sad because everything else on this ladder it great) Used ladder to wash RV at a camp site with a gravel pad. The bottom of the feet cracked and filled with gravel. I didn’t drag the ladder or over load it (I’m 6’1” and 220lbs). The feet are just cheap—I’ll have to replace with a better quality material. ... show more

  • Great for packing in the RV
Size: 16.5FT ( A Frame Ladder)
I needed a ladder that I could use to work on the top-sides and awning of the RV (areas that I can't get to safely from the roof) and at the same time be able to pack it into the basement of the motorhome - and this fills the need. I've gotten it out to re-waterproof the awnings while camped and it worked well. It would be nice if the rungs were just a bit wider to be easier on the feet, but they're ok for what they are. From the experience I've had with it, I would definitely recommend it for someone with similar needs. ... show more
