The use of filtration cartridge meets the standards of similar OEM PUR WATER FILTER. Due the condition of my local water company this filter improves taste . In practice I usually need to replace my water filter monthly . Many individuals in my Area purchase bottle water through a contractive agreement Spring Water. I find no significant difference in taste when purchased bottle water from Store. Most water purchased from Store is reverse osmosis water or labeled spring water. I was very skeptical of this product at first as I thought it filtered the water too fast. I actually requested a return on this item. They let me keep the item and refunded me. I have a friend that was able to have it lab tested and I found that the manufacturer's claims are accurate. I have repeat purchased these filters a few times already and will continue to do so. We have a well and hard water and the name brand filters do not last long and are extremely expensive. I tried these for a more affordable price. They work great, so much so that I've reordered and find they work probably better than the name brand. The filtered stream remains strong even when the filter is near the end of the useful life. These are great. Individually wrapped/sealed filters in a sturdy box. Great to have them on hand because I never know when the light will turn yellow/red. They fit just like the original PUR brand does.

I bought these because the brand I used to buy aren't available anymore.. What I've found is you need to slow down the flow of water to get it to actually filter right. Also, before the filter runs out, the water doesn't taste as good.. But, the real problem was my faucet started acting up, and water stopped running: if I took the pur system off, it ran fine.. So I thought it was my system and ordered a new one, but used the same filter, and it once again my water wouldn't run..
