I love this dispenser but just hand tightening the nut did not work for me. It was leaking from the around the spout. I recommend you tighten as much as you can and test it by filling up with water and placing on a paper towel. It the towel stays dry you are good to go but if you have any drips, tighten nut more. I had to use a wrench to get the drip to stop on mine. Obviously, too tight could crack the glass and I did several tests before I got it just right. Once you get it to work properly it is the best!! Yes, it's big, but it's kind-of square and the spigot is forward enough to hang over the front edge of a fridge shelf so you can use it without taking it out of the fridge. We have larger ones, but they do not fit into the fridge, so this is now my favorite pitcher for iced tea, and I drink a lot of iced tea! The materials seem good, and the construction seems good. Bought this product twice, both for housewarming. Great little gift, brought it to the party with sangria. Only con is the faucet drips a little tight. We put it on a small shelf, and a plate under it, which resolved the problem.
