I ordered this Checkered PolyPoplin in two colors (sage green and purple) to use for the pillowcases I make. The colors are beautiful and strong as pictured, the checkered squares are evenly woven, and the cut yard I got was carefully cut. It arrived quicker than expected, even with the heavy snowstorm we had. Though visually the fabric is everything I wanted, the polypoplin (as described) is too rough to use for pillowcases. I would not say the fabric is a poplin (poly or not) as poplin is usually a smoother, softer, and tighter weave than this fabric is. Yes, I would guess it is polyester and it did wash up and dried beautifully with no wrinkles (I had hoped washing it would soften the fabric but it did not). I, myself, would not wear a piece of clothing out of this fabric (maybe my skin is too sensitive) but it would be a nice fabric to use for home decoration (curtains, tablecloths, sofa pillows). ... show more
