I bought this set mostly for the boring bars to use on my OXA quick change tooling. The boring bar holder I have is meant for 3/8" shank (which these are advertised as) but neither of the round tool holders fit. They measured in the .390" range which means they're more likely for 10mm holders. I haven't measured the square shank tool holders to verify if the same applies. Seems like a decent bang for the buck as long as the inserts hold up well--just not described right. I ended up turning down both round shank holders on another lathe to get them to 3/8" ... show more

Purchased the 3/8 first and they where a little small. Ended up with the 1/2. Would have preferred 5/8 but with shims it works fine.

First, you should know that you do NOT really get what the pictures are showing. You do get what is pictured, but not as pictured. In the lead photo, you see that each tool has the cutter head installed and you see a red box with what appears to be additional cutters. This isn't what you get. Each tool comes without cutters which means you need to use the cutting tips in the red box. The tips do cut but dull very quickly. The cup breaker on the tip works Ok but still produces long cuttings in aluminum and brass. Steel breaks decently. Overall, I do not recommend these. You do get what you pay for and in this case, i BARELY got what I paid for. I would avoid these and go with another brand. ... show more

All the inserts mounted well and the cut off tool worked fine. Well protected from rust. Torx or Hex included with each box. A trivial issue is that the titanium colored coating didn't cover the whole insert, but the cutting edges were fine so who cares.
