Don't expect massive security from this thing. It is a low cost metal box to keep minor valuables in, or as a deterrent to a gun or cash being tampered with. It won't stop a dedicated thief, but it will discourage casual snooping. The keypad has an alarm, so if the wrong combo is entered too many times, it will beep until the correct code or the key is used. That being said, a small handheld grinder could probably remove an entire wall in under a minute. The door and sliding bolts are fairly robust, but the main body of the safe is just thin steel, no water seal or fire insulation. The silicone "fire proof" pouch provides all the elemental protection for cash or documents, but is a bit small for more than a few dozen bills. As I said in the headline, better than a dresser drawer, especially if you can mount it with the enclosed bolts, but this is not a true protective safe. ... show more

The product arrived in a timely manner. Install was a bit challenging as the anchor nut had nothing to attach itself to when pushing through the sheetrock. I overcame this by tapping the anchor nut into the anchor sleeve thuds making them "one unit". Once the sleeve was in the wall, I was able to feed the bolt through the safe and carefully ensured it grabbed the nut on the other side of the sleeve. While it was narrower than I was expecting (which was my bad as I checked for height and width, I did not check for depth. And, it is way lighter than the safe I replaced. Was able to carry this one to its new home, but had to use a hand truck to remove the old one. All in all, a really good safe. ... show more
