For that assessment and the documentation received with the knive set, I will hand wash all knives and use the dishwasher. Knives appear sharp and well made. Nice and sharp out of the box, looks nice on the counter, great price deal during Prime Days. Have a couple other Henckels knives that are 30+ years old so I know they’ll hold up well!

Nicely balanced, appear to be able to hold an edge, (not sure about the self sharpening feature yet) and good value for the money. Replaced my very old and tired set with these and I'm very pleased so far.

These were a present for our granddaughter, and she loves them. She sent me a picture, but some of the knives weren't in the rack, so I didn't post it. But that just shows that she's using them.

With the name and reputation that Henckels carries, you’d expect these knives to be top notch. However, after unpacking my first set of “German” knives, I quickly learned that I was about to let down…severely. First, I noticed that the silver part of the block was scratched, the blades were stamped with the words “Made in China”, and the handles were either split or nicked pretty significantly. Three strikes, they’re out. However, with a quick call to Amazon, they offered to ship me a whole new set and they arrived less than 24 hours later. As I was unpacking the new set, I noticed some slight differences in the new box (the color of it, the visuals, etc.) but didn’t think anything of it because boxes get updated all the time and the UPCs were the same. Until… I opened the box and started washing the supposed SAME set of knives. This is when I noticed the knives were now stamped “Made in India”, had a slightly different feel to them, and the stain on the block was significantly lighter. While I was shocked, I was willing to overlook all of this because at least these knives were in better shape/were a better quality (IMHO) and I actually did prefer the color of this block better. But then, later that night as I was cooking, I couldn’t get the pairing knife out of the block and it is now stuck in the self-sharpener! I am beyond disappointed and going to be requesting yet another replacement…from India!
