I have a Yoolax roller shade in my bedroom that is surface mounted on a window. Quite a bit of light gets past the edges when closed, so I bought these to help cut down on the light leakage. These are very sturdy and have a soft fabric "brush" on the inside edges to protect the edge of the window shade. I had to shorten these channels to fit my windows, I just used my table saw with a fine tooth blade to cut through the aluminum channel. The plastic cover on both ends is removable, just make sure to clean out the channel as there are some grooves that the end piece needs to fit in to lock it in. I used a thin run of double sided tape to adhere these to the outside trim of the window. The weighted bottom of the Yoolax shade fits nicely in the channel and the shade still opens and closes without binding. Looks nice and the color is very close to the metal valance of my roller shade. ... show more

This product works well. We had a professional company install black out shades because of the morning sunshine. But we still had HUGE amounts of sunshine coming thru. This product does well. We are going to need to run to the hardware store because the tape was missing on some of the product.

Really blocks out light coming from side of our blinds! Easy to install, but need a saw if you need to trim excess height off. First box arrived damaged, but the window I needed it for was short enough that we could use the straight part below the damage. The other four pieces were delivered without damage. Beware that the sticky side sticks HARD so don’t place it until you’re ready. Functions 10/10, delivery was hit or miss. Should probably be packaged with more protection. ... show more

I have roller blinds in my bedroom which means that there was a 0.5”-0.75” gap on each side so I bough 5 pairs of these and now my room is much darker. They look clean and made of thick material. The 3M tape is pre-installed so you just have to measure twice, cut to size and stick it to your window pane. Some reviews mentioned that it is hard to cut. I have a miter saw so I cut through these easily but since they are made with thick plastic, I wouldn’t advise trying to cut them with shears. At a minimum you’d need a hand saw. I had an issue where one of my orders wasn’t as wide as the other and seller sent me a replacement set right away. Don’t worry about these being too wide because they still look great. See my pics. Not 100% blackout because it depends on how your roller blinds were install but for my family, it’s given us 2-3 hours more sleep with the early daylight we get in Southern California. ... show more

Really good product! It has a nice texture to it and comes with the tape. This made a HUGE difference in my blackout windows. It is almost 100% completely black, the other small areas are just little imperfections in my actual blidns. Otherwise this is the best.

Great product, but the packaging was inadequate. These blackout PVC light blockers are heavy duty and do their job very well, IF they are straight. The ones I received were mailed in a long three-sided cardboard box which did nothing to protect the product. The light blockers are 79" long, which, as you can image, had a high probability of getting bent (they were, see photos). A more rational packaging would have the product taped to a wooden pole (or something similar) to prevent bending during transport. Rather than request a return, I straightened the blockers the best I could using hand weights and a strong vise, which eliminated 75% of the bend. I had to use screws to mount to the doorway, however, since the adhesive wasn't strong enough to overcome the remaining bend. It turned what would have been a simple installation into something more complicated and time consuming. That said, these light blockers are very sturdy and do what they are intended to do. I added black felt to the sun-side of the L-shaped surface, which helped eliminate most of the reflected light creeping in between the edge of the shade and the door frame. I would buy again, assuming more care in how they are packaged. ... show more
