Yellowknife Canada. Look it up, it's a real place that is very very cold. The five days I was there had about a 40 degree window of temperatures, bottoming around -24*F. This was my main layer for all of it. If you're unfamiliar with layering, it is possible to have too much on, even at -24. But... it's better to have too much and unzip or remove a layer than it is to not have enough. I layered this coat with a heavyweight merino wool base layer (top and bottom), a hooded fleece jacket (heavy Cotopaxi), heated glove liners (worn as gloves), and disposable 18 hour hand warmers in the front pockets. I had two small children and a 74 year old dad to tend to in the frigid temperatures. I also had a balaclava, neck gaiter, and beanie (toque) that were all merino wool except the beanie had a polyester lining to it. On the bottom half I had over the calf merino wool Darn Tough socks with Patagonia insulated Powdertown pants and a heavy fleece mid layer for the -teens and -20s. Sorel Caribou boots (rated for -40). The only thing I wish this jacket had more of was pockets. It's actually surprisingly packable, especially if you retain the original bag. It stuffs into the bag easily, every time. Otherwise, it's very puffy. I was in a place surrounded by Canada Goose, Fjallraven, Helly Hansen, and the like. The only thing other people had that I didn't was a brand logo. I was easily more comfortable than people who rented the Canada Goose jackets and neglected proper base layers. They were shivering and retreating inside often. The elastic cuffs were a Godsend. They adapted to my several different gloves (I also had knit gloves, and Black Diamond Mercury (two in one) mittens. The zipper was easy enough to use even with gloves on. Far easier than the Fjallraven jacket my wife will be returning. I think long term it may need a zipper repair, but it's several hundred dollars less than the competition. You can replace the zipper a dozen times and still be less than half the price of the others. An excellent value for a highly capable jacket.

I am a woman that ordered this for myself because women's coats have to have style over functionality and never fit my shoulders. This jacket is big for me. I could have gone with an L. I am glad I have the extra room so that I can layer up on the days when it is cold in the Colorado mountains. Good sized pockets that nice big gloves can fit into with the hand warmers. The hood is nice and thick but still easy to manage. This has made shoveling snow off of 2 big driveways a better experience instead of freezing all the time.

My husband needed a new winter jacket. We live in the southern US so it doesn't get blistering cold like it does up north. That said, we do hit temperatures that dip below freezing and our hot southern weather makes us wimps in the cold. The ZSHOW Men's Warm Winter Jacket is WARM!! This jacket is excellently made. The jacket has a zipper and snap button closure. The zipper is the only disappointment. It is plastic, though it functions perfectly. I hope it lasts. I prefer metal zippers. The snaps buttons are metal. The collar is high for keeping the neck warm, particularly the back of the neck. We particularly like the length. It keeps the entire torso, buttocks, and upper thighs covered. My husband is 6' tall and the length is perfect. The sizing is also perfect. My husband is a bodybuilder and has trouble fitting his arms and upper back in clothing and jackets. The XL is large enough for him to wear warm clothes under the jacket and not have the arms and upper back too tight. The jacket has a removable hood via a zipper. There are two types of pockets on the front which is nice for both keeping hands warm and storing keys and phone. Overall, the jacket is perfect for my husband. The value is excellent for a well made winter jacket that is exceptionally warm.
