After reading about issues with the mounting plate, I bought a KFI mounting plate that was specific to the Kodiak. Mount fit perfect only needed 4 bolts and it was in. Everything works as described and the included cables perfectly made it to the battery. I added an Anderson plug and square mount so it can be used on either end of my car. The remote works with very little delay if any.

    • A Very Impressive Winch At A Great Price.

I ordered the Zostera winch to mount on my old Honda Fourtrax. Unfortunately, the height of the winch prevented it from fitting into the frame of my bumper. It does seem to sit slightly prouder than advertised, so this is something to be aware of. Having said that, I will most certainly find another use for it down the line. I must say that this winch is very well constructed. Everything about it screams heavy duty. Included along with the winch is everything you need to install it (do keep in mind however that modifications to the vehicle may have to be made in order to adapt the winch mounting plate. This is true of all winches). These items include a steel mounting plate, mounting hardware, control box, solenoid, and a plethora of wire to allow you plenty of length for installation. All of the included accessories also appear to be well manufactured. This is a strong unit, and I have no doubt that it will pull every bit of the advertised 3500 pounds. I temporarily mounted it to the plow frame of my tractor and used it to pull down a few problem trees. It did an excellent job and didn't bog down at all. The controls are easy to operate, and the included rope is of excellent quality. I am highly impressed with this winch given its low price point, and am looking forward to putting it to work once I mount it permanently. ... show more
