  • Makes Recording Easy
The media could not be loaded. 32bit float is great for creativity. I had absolutely 0 problems with setup. I didn't have to install anything or hunt around for obscure settings. I unplugged my Focusrite Scarlett, plugged in the Zoom, verified it was selected in MacOS setting - it was. Launched a new project in Logic Pro 11.2, the record settings defaulted to 32-bit float. I plugged in my Telecaster, set the Zoom to 'inst', selected input 1 and pressed record and the result was perfect. Record feather light harmonics and edit them to be as loud as church bells. Play loud, play quiet, move the mic around, change guitars. You don't have to dial anything in. To me this makes a huge difference. I hesitate before buying this because of some nit-picking reviews about the build quality. This is definitely feels more like 'computer-equipment' than 'road-gear', but the quality feels fine to me. I'm comparing it to the Focusrite Scarlett. The master volume on the Zoom is slightly smaller than the one on the Focusrite, but they feel like they came from the same factory. The gain controls on the Focusrite have a nice rubberized coated gain controls that have a nice resistance when you adjust them. The Zoom donesn't need gain controls. The Zoom has a volume control for its headphone jack that's dampened like the Focusrite, but without the nice rubberized coating. I really like the little rails on the corners of the Zoom - They include little velcro cord keepers to use with them. ... show more

  • Solid interface - just plain works, and gives 32-bit float conversions
Got my interface and I'm loving it. On my unit the knobs are solid and the rubber feet don't roll. The rubber feet let it stand flat or on its side just fine. The sound through the unit, both in and out, is fantastic.

  • Great sound, clean and has lots of headroom
Works great. Especially like that it easily handles my Shure SM7B without needing a cloudlifter

  • There is NO gain, but once you get over that, the is no pain (sorry. I am so sorry)
I had a Scarlett 2i2 to drive my monitors and for mic inputs, My main mic has been a RE320 with a Triton Fethead. It sounded great. But the USB port on the Scarlett started to get janky, so I decided to try something else. MY main DAW iOS Adobe Audition, which does 32 floating bit point, so I decided to try an interface that does as well. It is weird. There is no gain, and the Fethead head isn't necessary. you can control levels in the DAW, but there is no gain. the quality of the input and the output is great, and I have no issues. it was just a interesting/weird adjustment. ... show more

  • Disappointing
The media could not be loaded. I was super excited to get an interface with 32 bit float recording. I was disappointed when I opened it and realized how cheap it is. Huge disappointment to say the least. For some unknown reason they put little wheels on the bottom, it moves back-and-forth. See my video. also, the knobs are small and they rattle. Pales in comparison to the quality and workmanship of the focusrite scarlet series. sadly, I cannot recommend this product. ... show more

  • Absolute Game Changer For Home Recording
Don't read or believe the negative reviews. I assure you they are user error. The key to using the Zoom UAC-232 USB audio interface with a PC is that you've first got to download the ASIO driver from the Zoom website. It's free and easy. Once you are in your DAW, select the Zoom UAC-232 as both your in and out, select 32-Bit Float (sometimes referred to as "32 BF," and then make sure to monitor from the actual Zoom UAC-232-- not from your PC. You'll be up and recording in about five minutes with incredible fidelity and no detectable latency. This five minutes I'm talking about includes the time to download and install the driver. I just tried the UAC-232 out tonight in Reaper, recorded a 10-track song, all on a mini PC with a bare-bones Intel Celeron processor, put heavy effects on four of the tracks using VST plugins, all with zero detectable latency, and without having to adjust gain once. This unit is a game changer. Don't hesitate to pull the trigger. Buy it. You're going to love it. ... show more
