  • A great automatic swimming pool cleaner for a reasonable price.
Size: Cleaner Only
I have had the Zodiac MX6 swimming pool cleaner for two years now and I am very pleased with it. It is still running every day. There are pool cleaners that cost hundreds of dollars more, but this one works quite well. It works off of the suction of the main swimming pool pump, so does not require any other power source, and it runs all day, as long as the pump is running. It is meant to connect to the pool cleaner fitting that comes into the side of your pool. If you don't have this, the cleaner comes with an attachment to connect it to your skimmer. (However, if you use this, your skimmer will not operate while the cleaner is connected.) It comes with several 3-foot sections of hose so you can adjust the length of the hose for your particular pool. After I got the length of the hose adjusted to the best length, the cleaner has not gotten hung up on the pool's steps. It is easy to set up and comes with clear instructions. It does not require much suction, I have a valve to control the suction of the cleaner so there is still enough suction for the skimmer to work. It has really made a difference in the look of my pool. The most often I could vacuum my pool manually was once per week, but this cleaner is like a little robot that vacuums all day long. The only negative is that it gets jammed up by some leaves, particularly eucalyptus and privet leaves. It is easy enough to pull the cleaner up and get the leaves out, but if you get a lot of leaves in your pool this might be a nuisance. Also, I was disappointed that it did not come with a threaded fitting for the suction-side inlet on my pool, instead it just has a tapered fitting that you jam into the inlet. The hose can then fall out, which is a safety hazard. I bought an adapter at the pool store that helps hold it in, and has a spring-loaded cover to close the inlet off if the hose were to fall out. (An example is the GW9530 vac port fitting, on Amazon.) But, overall, for the price it has been a very effective automatic swimming pool cleaner. ... show more

  • Zodiac Pool Sweeper
Size: Cleaner Only
The item was delivered as promised. It's easy to assemble and it works GREAT. This replaced a Rebel pool sweeper. I had purchased a second Rebel last year and it was so-so in everyday use. But last month the housing broke around one of the wheels. So with that, I checked out the Zodiac and find it's what they say it is. I recommend this sweeper for anyone with a small pool. ... show more

  • Zodiac MX6 Pool Vacuum: A Surprisingly Efficient Cleaner Despite Initial Setbacks
Size: Cleaner Only
When my Zodiac MX6 pool vacuum arrived, the condition of the packaging nearly deterred me from giving this product a chance. The box was not just damaged but appeared to have been previously opened, which led me to question the integrity of its contents. However, upon inspection, I was relieved to find that the vacuum and its components were in pristine condition, untouched and ready for assembly. The assembly process of the MX6 is straightforward, but it's marred by a minor yet significant annoyance: the need to count the wheel's rotations per 10 seconds for optimal setup. A simple yellow mark on either side of the vacuum would greatly enhance this process, making it more user-friendly and less of a hassle. One of the highlights of this product is the generous quantity of hoses provided, which comfortably covers the needs of a 20,000-gallon pool. I found myself with two spare hoses, which I plan to keep for future replacement needs—hopefully not too soon. Switching from a Hayward Navigator, the MX6 has allowed for a notable reduction in my pool's operating costs. By enabling a pump speed setting of 2550 rpm—down from the 3000 rpm required by the Navigator—I've observed significant electrical savings. Moreover, the pool environment is now quieter, and the increased flow to the skimmer has noticeably improved pool cleanliness. The MX6 design, with fewer exterior moving parts compared to the Navigator, suggests a promising reduction in maintenance needs. Components like the turbine bearing or the flaps and shoes, which required biannual replacements with my old vacuum, now seem a concern of the past. While I was unable to find the MX6 Elite version on Amazon, which would have been my preferred choice, the standard MX6 has, so far, exceeded my expectations. I look forward to updating this review after facing the challenges of bad weather or a pool full of leaves and dirt. As of now, the Zodiac MX6 stands as a reliable and efficient pool cleaning solution, well worth considering for those in the market for such a product. ... show more

  • Really well designed
Size: Cleaner Only
I’ve owned pools for 45 years and this little dude along with the leaf catcher clean beautifully! We’ve got live oaks in south Texas and my pool has never looked better in March when the trees dump 100’s of pounds in weeks. I’m sold! Well done Zodiac!

  • Not worth the expense!
Size: Cleaner Only
This was delivered on 3/28/24. The box was heavily damaged, including the handle ripped off, and several holes and crush points on the box. Thankfully, the packaging ensure the item itself sustained no damaged. However, that's the only good thing I can say. I installed the vacuum as per the instructions. And though they are limited and a bit confusing due to the lack of explanation, I got it up and running. It took a lot of troubleshooting to get the wheel indicator timing right, but I got there. Seems to me I should have to do this, but here we are. Right away I noticed the vacuum would only go to the walls. I tried moving it to several different places in my pool, but again and again it would attempt to go up a wall, and end up stuck. After the latest wind storm, being an uncovered above ground pool, I had some leaves in my pool. I let the system run for 12 hours today while I was at work, and I took note of the leaves before I left for the day. When I came home, there was less than a dozen leaves in the leave trap for my pump, and much of the leaves and pollen bits appeared completely untouched. I spent a hours this evening again trying to troubleshoot and find a happy balance of pressure with the pressure change device, but no luck. This vacuum was nearly $400, but yet it does nothing but flip on it's side, pop wheelies, get stuck against the walls, and spin and spin and spin. I have already processed a return, and will be dropping it off tomorrow. ... show more
