So far I really like this belt. It came in two pieces. The belt itself & the buckle. I was worried about having to cut the belt & how that works. I haven't cut it yet because it fits me fine but i'm in the process of losing weight so this will be great not to have to buy a new belt when i lose all my weight. Where you cut the belt at is on the side that attaches to the buckle so don't worry about how it will look. I really like the ratcheting mechanism of of the belt. It works much better than the standard buckle with prongs that go through holes on the belt. The only unanswered question is how the belt will hold up. I think the belt is sturdy & the ratcheting mechanism doesn't seem to put as much as stress on the belt as a standard buckle does so hopefully the belt doesn't slit or the ratcheting mechanism doesn't wear out on either the buckle or belt side but if it does i will update my review but so far its been great (only have wore it 1 day at this point). ... show more

To my surprise I've been wearing it almost every day and the ratchet clasp still holds tight as day one. Belt is very comfortable and durable. A lot of buckles are uncomfortable because they push uo against my mid section. This belt does not at all. I like there is no notches and you can tighten and loosen the belt as much as you need. Order the belt bigger bevause you can always cut off any extra. These belts are built to last forever if you don't out grow them. Even then buckle would be good, you would just need a longer strap. Takes 30 second to attach the strap to the buckle btw, very convenient. ... show more

I've tried other adjustable belts, but I like this one better. The belt is actual leather. The buckle, while larger than the usual prong type, is smaller than other adjustable buckles I've tried, and the color matches that of the belt. I selected the 34 to 40 inch size, and there are lines marking where to cut that are actually marked with the resulting size. i am not a stranger of ratchet belts. this one takes a lot of getting use to. the release mechanism is a real pain at times to located and maneuver. my old buckle;e which i am contemplating using instead of the new one, you just lift up the back of the buckle and it easily releases. this one has a small switch that requires a prolong search to find. so if your in a hurry you may want to attempt releasing the belt prior to your trip to the rest room or you might not make it. style wise i like it, release mechanism is a definite pain and difficult at times. ... show more
