  • Dual jet flame works awesome for cigars! Lights every time. Dual jet flame works awesome for cigars! Lights every time.
Style: Butane Color: Chrome Double Torch
I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the other reviews which mentioned it malfunctioned. However, so far this has lit Everytime I pressed the button. I love this for cigars because this doesn't leave the standard Zippo fuel smell behind and it quickly lights cigars evenly. For cigs, you should make sure to light it upright vs. pointing it inward towards your face because the flame is longer than it looks and the heat doesn't stop at the blue area. From a safety standpoint, this is important because those flames are hot. I have had it light every time I press the button. I use a canister of butane to refill it. The only thing I don't love about this is Zippos are small and butane depletes quickly, so after 8 or 10 cigars, I have to make sure to refill this. There is no real leakage from when it's not being used, however I would like an indicator window, even if it means sliding the inset out, in order to check how much fuel is left before needing to refill. Standard Zippo fuel inserts generally last a little longer before a refill is needed. The color of this is silver. I would like a gold/brass color or even black ... however, your only choices are gold and, oddly, blue. It feels solid and high quality and is made of metal. I expect it to last a long time. Overall, wether a gift or for yourself, this really enhances a Zippo, especially for cigar smokers. Zippo lighters are so cool ... and I love that I can have their vintage style without needing to make my cigar taste like fuel or light unevenly. I highly recommend this as a cheap-ish upgrade to a standard Zippo insert. I hope my video, pictures and honest review, after actually using the product, were helpful to you. ... show more

  • This replaces your Flintstone liquid insert!
Style: Butane Color: Chrome Single Torch
If you don't want to mess with the old-fashioned Flint replacement, weekly refilling of liquid fuel, and changing and trimming a wick, this is your answer. The butane is ignited by a spark that you generate yourself by pushing a button, no batteries required. It is made beautifully, and fits perfectly in your ZIPPO case. And the butane does not evaporate like the liquid fuel does, so it can wait for years for you to use it, unlike the liquid fuel which evaporates within a few days to a week. Also, there are no flints to replace. It lights every time, and you can adjust the flame to your height. And, like the old-fashioned ZIPPO, it is indeed windproof. The perfect lighter in your favorite old case. I'm ordering two more for my friends as gifts. ... show more

  • Butane last much longer than lighter fluid, have to hold for flame
Style: Butane Color: Yellow Flame
This butane insert has been a great upgrade for my Zippo. It dropped right into the case with no fitment issues and immediately feels more convenient than the traditional lighter fluid insert. The flame lights consistently enough and burns clean without the fuel smell or evaporation you get with standard Zippo fluid. Refilling with butane is quick and easy, and a full fill lasts longer than I expected with regular use. Overall build quality feels solid and in line with what you’d expect from the Zippo name. One minor downside: the button you hold to keep the flame going is a bit small. It’s not a dealbreaker, I have larger hands it just took a little getting used to. Aside from that, this is a solid option for anyone who loves the classic Zippo look but doesn’t want to refill lighter fluid every single week. ... show more

  • Works great! At first, then the trigger stiffens and irs awful.
Style: Butane Color: Yellow Flame
At first it was working great. A month later it's gone on the "piece of htsi lighter pile". Lemme explain why. So zippo has been making lighters since 1932 bur they somehow didn't think to make the bottom to release gas as large and high up as possible to decrease the amount of time your thumb takes from striking the flint to releasing gas resulting in misfires. This problem got worse over a month of daily usage to a point where I got what I can only describe as "zippo thumb" and my entire thumb was hurting all bloody day. Basically what's happened is for some reason the button to release the gas went from tolerable and striking every time to now desperately flicking the thing 7-igiveup times to get any fire and requires a lot of strength on a tiny, greasy slippery nub that desperately wants to go back into resting position screw you and your smoke break. I expected WAY more from zippo. This isn't hard to get right it's clear as day that they could have made the gas release button stick out more for more leverage and raised it up higher so your hitting the gas before the spark is gone and hey maybe not make the gas release button from slick bloody chrome!!! It's profoundly stupid. Why it doesn't have a grippy finish I have no idea it needs some skateboard tape or something. People that are giving this a good review need to use it a couple times a day for a month and it starts to seize up and hurt your thumbs like mario party 64 but way worse it's quite painful. Zippo needs to iterate on this, they strike me as quite the lazy company. The stiffness of the button needs work but would be hugely mitigated by an overall larger gas release button. You can see how little there is to grab on to and if you have large hands forget it. Sure it doesn't leak but If I feel like I just slammed my thumb in a car door all day because of this pos we have traded one product breaking issue for another (vs thunderbird et al). They could hire me and I could solve this before lunch time and so could you, how hard is it to make the button bigger?! Just go and buy the cheapest zippo MPL mini(multi purpose lighter) you can find, not the large one it hurts your thumb too ffs. The mini is perfect though, had I know it existed when I bought this thing I wouldnt have bought this thing. There are no good options for making your zippo into a butane lighter that last more than a month if you actually plan to use it. MPL mini by zippo, it's not a zippo-zippo but it's a reliable, refillable, kinda big but not too big soft flame butane lighter by zippo. The one I got was half the price of this dumb piece of junk waste of 13 bucks and it's all metal and looks pretty nice. Get the graphite colored one the others are all kind of ugly colors imo. As for this insert, to quote t "The Critic" It STINKS! ... show more

  • It works...
Style: Butane Color: Chrome Double Torch
I expected better from Zippo. The fit and finish are superb. But this thing holds fuel for a few days at best. The adjustable flame is a joke. If it's turned to low it just won't light and if it's to high it'll suck all the fluid out. Get it if you want. It does work. But I definitely wouldn't rely on this in a worse case scenario kinda situation. ... show more

  • The most important thing to know is that this Zippo uses a flint instead of an electric igniter
Style: Butane Color: Yellow Flame
It doesn't say on the ad but this is a Zippo brand insert and it works incredibly well and saves me all the trouble of having to put leaky fluid in my lighter. The most important thing about this lighter for me is that it doesn't have a wick and it doesn't use jet plane it uses a standard butane flame. What I wanted was a similar flame to what the Zippo normally has and this provides that for me. It isn't windproof but aside from that it is a flawlessly made beautifully crafted piece of machinery. I like it so much that I just finished ordering a second one now I have two Zippo butane lighters but here's the thing that's most important about this lighter that you won't find in most other letters. It does not have a piezo electric igniter. Instead true to the Zippo tradition it uses standard Zippo Flint. For me this just became my new favorite lighter again. And because of that I got my old unused wick style flint type Zippo and am upgrading it as well. ... show more

  • US Navy Official Licensed Zippo w/ Blue 2X Butane Insert 👍👍👍
Style: Butane Color: Blue Double Torch
Dude when these guys design something they knock it out of the park. I buy the Zippo I want, and then I put one of these bad boys in it, and the Zippo is made in the USA, and the butane insert is made in China at the factory in China. So I am still carrying and holding a US lighter lol I do what i can they don’t make these here and they are aweosome. So well designed and engineered and honestly manufactured. The finish on these is impeccable and surprisingly durable. Dang do these things work good as intended I am a pyro and an outdoors type primitive camper and primitive woodsman history enthusiast, I use propane heaters and the like, I burn wood, I burn various fire pits, charcoal grills, I smoke, I like to start random little fires whenever there is an excuse anywhere that it’s appropriate, and I have always loved lighters. I have spent so many hours debating the relative merits of Bic vs Cricket vs Clipper vs etc etc., debating various types of fuels/combustion methods including DISSIM, torch/jet, plasma arc, petroleum/lighter fluid (classic zippo), tsubota pearl, various different ignition sources such as piezo or steel and ferrocerium (“flint”), combustion catalytic conversion hand warmers with built in lighters etc etc. These are really good lighters. Zippos are already so solid and proven and they kicked it out of the park with the butane inserts imo. Doggone Zippo still killing it after all these years. Wish i had my original USS Decatur - DDG 73 - Zippo that I bought in the ship’s store onboard when I was a young recruit in the 1990s and I was serving on the Decatur when she was commissioned. I bought it before she was commissioned, after she was christened but not commissioned yet and she was still going through Bravo trials in Bath Maine before sailing to Portland Oregon for the christening ceremony. That lighter was beautiful and I am sad to this day the box was lost in a move that had this lighter in it. Grrr/uggghhhhh. Oh well. That’s life! ... show more
