  • Another Fine Zippo
Style: Classic Color: Street Brass
I’ve had literally hundreds of Zippos over the years, most were given away to make room for more, managed to misplace the last one I’d had left, so I ordered this one to replace it. It performs exactly as expected, the case and spring are solid and well-fitting without making it too challenging to get the insert out for filling/maintenance, took a bit to break in the flint as usual, but it works exactly as a Zippo should. Fantastic value even without the sale price and it looks gorgeous with the street-finish brass and feels great in the hand. I could see myself getting another just like it so I have a backup (nothing against the functionality, there’s just never a situation where someone who uses a wick lighter would be worse off with a spare). ... show more

  • Must buy!
Style: Classic Color: Street Brass
There’s just something classic about a Zippo. The build quality is solid—it feels sturdy and well-made in your hand. The click when you open it is oddly satisfying, and it lights reliably every time with that signature windproof flame. It’s refillable and long-lasting, which makes it way more sustainable than disposable lighters. Plus, the design options are endless, so it can totally match your style. Definitely a timeless piece that’s as functional as it is iconic. ... show more

  • Rock solid Zippo at a GREAT Price. Same quality as always.
Style: Classic Color: Street Brass
Best priced no frills classic zippo. Folks that read reviews--the silly ones are amazing--doesn't work when I open it, didn't come with fluid, hard to turn wheel for the flint--it's a zippo , a classic lighter --an animal un to itself. Been using zippos for over 50 years. Opened it up, soaked the wadding and reassembled. flick flick flick--lighter burns as it should. Flick --it lights again. Flints are readily available. I don't chase collectible zippos. I have one that's probably 70+ years and it's identical to this. folks are complaining about some plastic coating on this or whatever--my god it's a ten dollar zippo. The coating like anything else in and out of a pocket with keys and coins and tables will get scuffed--GOOD. All I can say is it's as zippo as any zippo that's been out the past 30 years. I don't want one with some silly tacky slogan. Brass or steel and this was cheaper--what a deal! My gifts to people are usually a zippo, a Victorinox Tinker without scissors and a Leatherman Wave + or an ARC if they're really special! Zippo always--everyone gets. Young ignorant people--don't buy it if you don't know what it is--it takes fluid, you change flints, you tweak a wick. What it does do is burn incredibly for lighting anything! ... show more

  • Solid Brass Over Street Brass - No Brainer
Style: Classic Color: Brushed Brass With Solid Brass
The Solid Brass Zippo is the way to go ! I’m a United States Navy Veteran ( Desert Storm / Shield ) and this lighter is an absolute must for anyone who loves to sail the seas . Just something very nautical about it . Love this beautiful brass ! I was really surprised to see the insert being brass as well . I’ve been collecting Zippos since the 1980’s and even though most do not get used anymore, this one definitely will . It’s a great addition. I had a brass zippo years ago - similar- but wasn’t this nice . I also was checking out the reviews. I was stunned to see how many people love the street brass zippo . ( I’m not a fan - sorry . Something about the coating turned me off ). You won’t be disappointed with the Solid Brass ! It’s beautiful and it works like a Zippo should . I hope to use for many years . Now I want to go sailing !! Happy Sails everyone ... show more

  • A quality, heavy Zippo lighter but unfortunately a scratch magnet
Style: Armor Color: Armor High Polish Brass
I ordered this lighter because I'd always wanted a hefty and quite shiny 'gold' zippo that was reasonably priced. I expected it to get a few scratches here and there while traveling in my pocket, but it scratched pretty heavily sharing a pocket with my cellphone. It never came in contact with my keys or even my wallet, but after having it for a few months it's completely covered in scratches and spots where the case needs a good polishing. Performance wise, it's a perfectly functional lighter and I've never had a problem with fluid leaking even after a full refill, but I've never over-filled it because of years of experience. Breakdown out of 10 Appearance - 8 Out of the box this is one of the sexiest lighter's I've ever seen and has a great weight to it, as advertised. Unfortunately (and also the reason I gave it a 4 of 5) is that this lighter is a scratch/fingerprint magnet that needs constant cleaning and some brass polish if you want to keep it looking as good as it does out of the box. That or some kind of case or cloth to keep it relatively scratch free. An added benefit is that the insert of the lighter is also brass, not just the case, so it looks quite classy all over. The Wikipedia article on zippo lighters has a picture of this lighter, open, if you're interested in seeing the insert. I also really like the weight of it and it doesn't feel cheap like a good percentage of zippos do. Durability - 7 It scratches incredibly easily as brass is a fairly soft metal but all the inner parts continue to work well. Performance - 8 Lights great, uses fuel at a reasonable rate and is even decent in moderate wind conditions for lighting a cigarette. Performance with pipe lighting could be a bit better, but it's not a pipe lighter so I didn't factor that into my score. One con I saw was that the zippo insert would pull up when the case was opened. This isn't a problem if you're lighting the lighter each time you open it, but it makes zippo tricks hard, if not impossible in succession because the case won't close if the insert isn't all the way down in the case. I was a bit disappointed in that because I had planned on using this zippo for tricks and practicing becomes much more tedious when you have to keep pushing the insert back down every 3rd or 4th time you open the cap. ... show more

  • Great heft and looks especially with flame insert.
Style: Armor Color: Armor High Polish Brass
Classic look; great heft, and with the jet flame insert it is insanely easy and nice to use. I’ve had more expensive pipe and cigar lighters but this one if my go-to and a nice nod to my youth when my elders used Zippo lighters.
