  • This lighter is probably the coolest thing ever. Battery is limited, but who cares. 10/10
Battery life is limited, but this is a REALLY cool product. You really stand out when u use it, it works well, and its essentially the coolest thing ever.

  • Works great. Press the button twice!
This works great but one thing to note. Press the button twice to ignite. I didn't read the instructions and thought it was dead. :)

  • Great but know it's uses
It's a great insert and fits in all my zippos and I do love that it's rechargeable meaning I don't have to mess with butane or lighter fluid. However because it is electric some things just don't catch on fire the way you want them to. Like if you want to start a fire some things just immediately burn with no flame. Lighting fuses is super easy and fast though. So basically you really have to know what kind of use you are going for with the electric lighter. Fireworks are amazing with this thing. ... show more

  • Miss the Fuel smell but love not worrying if it has evaporated when I need it to work
Pretty cool. I always keep a lighter in my emergency kit along with a blade and first aid gear. The problem with carrying my zippo with fuel in it is the fuel evaporated after a week or 10 days. Not sure how safe that is but it weirds me out the fuel would evaporate so fast. So when I saw the option to upgrade the igniter, I decided to try it out. There isn’t a big delay on ignition except I do notice you have to hit the button twice to activate the device. I assume this is a safety feature to prevent accidental ignition. Once it does activate, it has a low buzzing noise and will burn materials just as fast if not quicker than a regular flame. A weird thing that maybe I find interesting alone is that wind does affect the plasma as it does move the electrons around. Nothing too drastic. But noticeable. It wont knock out the igniter. If I had one complaint it is that I wish the prongs were longer and stuck up a little higher so you don’t have to tip the device up into whatever you are lighting. I guess it is another safety feature as not to zap the metallic finish on the case. No more messy fuel spills trying to fill. Works when I need it to work without worrying if the fuel evaporated after 10 days. Plasma igniter is neat. It is a tighter fit putting this in and pulling it out of the lighter shell. Tighter than the fuel insert. But the interchangeability with the standard shells allows you to carry multiple lighters for different needs with different looks. With this, I took out the pipe lighter insert from the faux wood zippo and put this in. I miss the cool opening of the Zippo where you light it in two quick showy moves. It takes two presses of the button to switch on for safety. Possibly, and maybe I’m wrong, but this seems slightly safer around small kids than a flame lighter that can continue to burn when left open. I miss the smell of the fuel. I found it relaxing when I got hit by massive panic attacks. ... show more

  • Great to revive that old Zippo
This review is for both the Arc lighter insert, and the double butane lighter insert. I bought both. Arc Insert - Fits perfect, very well made. Easy to charge up. Lasts a long time. I got it for an emergency lighter for backpacking, snowmobiling etc. Also, to be clear, you cannot light a cigar with this Arc lighter, period. Doesn't work, don't try. I am a cigar smoker and I tried, nope. Cigarettes probably. Get the zippo butane insert for cigars, works great. Double Butane Insert - Fits perfect, very well made. Easy to fill up and adjust flame. Worked right out of the box, I didn't have the problem some have had with the piezoelectric starter. Strong consistent flame. I got it for general purpose and lighting cigars. Works great. EDIT - I had a problem with this after I refilled it the second time. It would not light. Good spark but no gas coming out. Tried to purge in case it was bad gas or air bubbles. No good. Was about to send it back when I saw an article on youtube about the known defective flame adjustment screw on the bottom. I followed the instructions and it fixed my problem. Requires taking the lighter bottom off and removing or reaffixing the flame adjustment screw stop and o-ring. Not terribly hard but requires small tools, good eyes, and a steady hand. Not to mention I am sure Zippo doesn't want you taking this apart as it voids warranty maybe? I'm bumping my review down 2 stars cuz the owner shouldn't have to fix a brand new lighter. Good luck. I am so happy Zippo finally made these! It revives all my old zippos I don't use because the lighter fluid evaporates so quickly. ... show more

  • Best lighter ever
The media could not be loaded. I love it. I’ve always loved Zippo lighters since I was a kid. Nothing like the sound of a Zippo opening up before lighting up a cigarette or a doobie. I never liked the stinky fuel. The torch is better but this is the best in my opinion. No fuel. No flint. No mess. I like the high gloss polished finish, even on the spring cam which is a dark colored metal on the classic insert. It has a nice weight to it, even heavier than the classic fuel insert which makes the lighter feel nice in your hand. I can’t wait to buy more zippos now. The only bad thing I can say about the arc lighter insert is that it doesn’t fit the shell as tightly as the classic insert. Slightly looser fit but I T works just fine. Five stars. ... show more

  • Nice insert
I just got it and it looks pretty slick! The double tap to light took some getting used to though. I haven't had it long enough to run the battery down, so I can't say how good the battery is yet.
