Description

Forget digging holes and pouring concrete with this innovative fence system. Utilizing a similar installation method as chain link fence, with this system you drive steel pipe (included) deep into the ground to install a sturdy and lasting fence. The Newport picket fence is 36in high. Purchase several panels to put together to create a fence line. Finish your fence run with the Newport finishing post (ZP19003) or use the optional gate to create an entrance way (ZP19004). Crafted from premium weather-proof PVC, this vinyl fence is maintenance free and comes with a lifetime warranty on materials. To install your fence posts, use a sledge hammer to drive the pipe into the ground. You won't need to clean up any excavated dirt or mess in your yard either. Please note that this fence is designed to be permanent and is not easily removed once installed.

My husband and I put this fence together as a team. The instructions are clear. It does take time to put everything together, but besides the time factor, it is easy assembly. The important thing to know is that it's not 100% no dig because to do it correctly, you need to dig out a 4 inch square hole where the post go so that your vinyl posts are 4 inches buried in ground. This is shown in the fence diagram in the product image shown here on amazon as well as the instructions it comes with. So what you do is dig out a small 4 inch square hole, then drive your steel post into the ground (centered), then put the vinyl post overtop and into the 4 inch hole. This creates the right height for the post and picket to be near in height and creates stability for post. Here is what we did to make it run smoother: we made a string outline around the yard where fence would go, using bamboo rods and string. This provided clarity and guide to kept fence straight as we go. My husband dug out the 4 inch holes and did the steel post using a post driver (got for $35). While he was doing his post around the perimeter, I was taking the vinyl post and measuring where the bottom bracket would go. I then used the actual bracket as my guide to mark the 4 holes for the screws. Then I predrilled the screw holes using the drill bit they provided in your kit. The predrilled holes made it much easier to efficiently put brackets on once post in place. We did all the post and brackets, then added the horizontal 6 ft pieces, then last step was to put in the pickets and secure ends with screws. This process created a nice flow. It took us from 9am to 7pm to fully complete ours. We bought 14 boxes, plus a gate and end post. We used them all and had to make 2 special cuts. The fence is 3ft in height so it does look like an attractive small picket fence. We installed for our 3 dogs and 2 of which are big dogs and it truly does the job keeping them inside securely, while looking attractive. Hope this review helps. ... show more

Received fast. Very good quality and super simple (with 2 people) to install. I bought a post driver but didn’t need it, sledge hammer worked fine. Definitely a measure twice, screw once product. Make sure your string line and have a small and long level available. Because you don’t set the posts in concrete you can move them a little to adjust if you have too. The Zippity gate was too small to get lawn tractor through so we improvised and used 4 separate larger rail mounts to allow us to lift a 6 ft) section out and back easily - this is our gate. Rail Mount 2" x 3.5" White 4 Piece Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CDI6TIS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_L7lJWN3p2eZ28 Took us 3 hours to perfectly set four sections. It would take half to do another four as you get used to it quickly. We were lucky not to hit and large rocks when setting poles in ground. I would recommend this fence as a small dog barrier. This product is really great and easy to install. Directions are very well listed and explained. Measurements are very critical so be sure. Fence looks great once completed and with the aid of the 1.5 inch auger, install is easy. Also available on Amazon. Great Value for sure

The fencing comes in a package you assemble. It provides enough screws to fully assemble but the instructions leave some things out. The fence is held in place by metal poles that require embedment into the ground. I found I needed a post hole hammer to get them in. Each fence comes with a pillar used to cover the metal pole . The issue is that in order to secure the pillar and the fence rails you need to drill into the metal pole. A drill bit is provided but it is the wrong size and will not work when trying to secure the screws and bolts. The fence rails are held on by plastic fixtures with predrilled holes . When install on uneven slopes these holes will not align and will require some adjustment . Once assembled the fence looks great . During the assembly the fence posts fit through a top rail and into a bottom rail . I found I had to align and level the rails before putting the posts in. Also in order to maintain symmetry I had to dig into the ground to get the posts to align . The posts are plastic so this takes care and time . My wife and my neighbors all were very happy with the final look of the product . I have built wood fencing and this is relatively easier and more flexible to install. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this fence to create a dog park for our 2 boys. One great aspect is it can be modified to accommodate nearly any configuration you want. I purchased (2) 72" fences, (1) gate and (2) additional posts then used our existing fence as the back side. I was going to use the gate as one end piece, but they don't sell an equivalent piece for the other side. So I cut one of the 72" sides in half to use as the end pieces and used the gate as an extension alongside the other 72" piece. Once installed, the fence is attractive and sturdy. Definitely establishes the "white picket fence" feeling. HOWEVER...Depending on your soil, this is NOT a "no dig" fence. Per the manufacture's instructions, the metal posts are to be placed at least 18" in the ground. The recommend a "post driver" as the best option. I purchased the post driver and it was no easier to get the post in the ground. Moreover, keeping the post level while banging it somewhat erratically is beyond difficult. Ultimately, we purchased and used a sledgehammer to install the posts which was definitely easier than the post driver, but no small feat for a novice installer. I also recommend going onto the Zippity website for clearer installation instructions. Unfortunately I didn't stumble upon this tidbit until I completed the installation. The only downside is the space between the slats is bigger than first thought and our fur babies apparently are all hair and can fit through. I plan to install plexiglass around the fence as it will keep the integrity of the look as opposed to unsightly chicken wire. We removed the grass and added turf and a fire hydrant for the boys to enjoy their new space. I definitely recommend this product. All in all...go for it. ... show more
