I am so surprised how beautiful this bed looks in person. I mean, it looks great in the pictures but they don't do it justice. The stain is a beautiful rich brown mahogany and each piece feels very sturdy as it should. I purchased two of these for two different rooms and had no issues with either one. The packaging is above and beyond.... double-boxed and the styrofoam is enclosed in plastic wrap so it doesn't fall apart all over the place. One of the outer boxes was damaged but there was no damage to the actual product. It took myself plus one son to assemble the beds. I could've assembled on my own but it's nice to have the help. Took about 30 mins each bed. The box itself is extremely heavy and it took 2 of us to haul them upstairs. If I'd have been alone, I would've taken each piece up one at a time. The instructions are very simple and easy to understand. The screws and washers are well-labeled and come with extra parts. It even comes with a ratchet allen wrench which is really cool. All the pieces are labeled with stickers and you just match the stickers and screw in the screws. There is nice attention to details with the velcro system and the center beam has felt on top to reduce noise. The beds feel very sturdy and look amazing. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and checked lots of other websites... Pottery Barn, Haverty's, Rooms to Go, etc... looking for a great bed at a great price. The only thing I might add are extra slats. For this, I'll head to Home Depot and have some wood cut to size to lay in between the slats that came with the bed. That is just because I want the mattress to last as long as possible and I believe the slats are supposed to be closer together. You could also forgo the slats and use a piece of plywood or very short bunkie board for your foundation. Overall, I'm extremely pleased and would highly recommend this. ... show more

My old platform bed broke after 10+ years so I bought this one at Amazon. It shipped early and I received it before the estimated arrival date. It comes in a huge box and is very well packaged with another big box inside. Unless you are in good shape (as in you regularly lift weights) , I'd recommend you get help moving the box around. Unpacking the box is easy, most of the parts are labeled and you get a well diagrammed instructions sheet. The instructions are laid out in a 1-2-3-4-5... step by step type format. I had no problems following along and finding the right parts to fit together. The only problem I had (and it was my fault) was figuring out how the corner foot posts were supposed to be oriented so the side rails and foot rail could be screwed on. And all it takes is one hex tool that is included . You also get some extra parts just in case. It took me about an hour and a half and I was going slow. I had no issues with misaligned screw holes or missing parts. I really like how much sturdier this bed is than my old bed. There is a middle metal rail with 3 metal posts and an extra middle side post on each side rail (the part of the rail contacting the slats have a rubber strip).. The foot and headboard posts are sturdy and thick. The slats Velcro on to the bed so they do not slide. There are two tacky strips on the slats, one near the headboard and the other one near the foot. I put my foam mattress back on and lay on it for a rest..lol. The bed does not make any noise at all when I move around, no squeaks or slat noise. ... show more

The frame arrived perfectly packaged, well cushioned, and no damage whatsoever. There were simple, easy to understand instructions and the pieces were clearly labeled for assembly sequence. All the necessary tools were provided including a mini ratchet. Once fully assembled I went around and tightened things up with a full size ratchet but this is not mandatory. This is a nice solid bed that looks good when fully assembled,. I was frankly surprised at the quality, as well as the clarity of the assembly instructions and the thoughtfully designed blister pack that labels all the different bolts and other parts needed for assembly. Something usually lacking in some Chinese made goods . Another surprise was the way it was packed to protect it from damage during shipping. A very heavy and large box that is subject to abuse.. My box arrived a bit beat up but the bed parts inside were all fine. I was not crazy about the Allen wrench bolts, which take a bit longer to deal with than something with a hex head. But it comes with an allen wrench and no other tools are required so anyone can do it. And its much solid than the the bolt and cam system used in a lot of build it yourself furniture. Everything fit together quite well. Just make sure to closely follow the instructions. All attachment points are numbered to correspond with picture instructions. But study each picture closely before moving forward. All in all a good deal for the money. ... show more

This is a pretty nice bed frame for the price. It went together quite easily. The instructions had almost no words but were still easy to follow. The parts were well labeled. There is also a video available to watch if needed, but we did not need it. We put a Zinus memory foam mattress on top and it hangs over a little on both sides. Just got it assembled and I’m very pleased so far. It is very well engineered. The hardware goes together and forms tight connections. Assembly was pretty easy. I put it together by myself. It includes thoughtful things like the hook n’ loop strips that keep the wood slats in place and a ratcheting Allen wrench which was very much appreciated. It is real wood, not particle board and it is finished beautifully. This is the best bed you can get at this price point. There may be some better but they will cost a lot more. It seems very sturdy and should hole up well for years of sleep and lovemaking. This is with a 14” memory foam mattress. ... show more
