This bed looks stylish and is made well. The base is really strong with good hardware and the bamboo wood accents are made of real bamboo wood. The finish on the wood is also very good with no sloppy brush strokes. The one thing I would change to make this bed superior is replace the wood mattress brace boards with recessed metal mattress supports (same metal as used in the frame) and raise the frame's corners so that the mattress does not shift. The peel off sticky tape on the wood brace boards is cheap and soon loses its stick after a few times adjusting or turning the mattress. Raised corners is a permanent solution. Recessed metal cross bars instead of wood is also permanent since long thin slats of wood have a life span. This, however, would require the manufacturer to redesign the frame. ... show more

Bed frame came inside flat box weighing a significant amount (75lbs approx). Was not damaged in shipping and was packaged with care. The construction feels sturdy and inspires confidence. Zero noise at all. Looks fantastic and the increased height model puts you at a very comfortable height off the ground. This low profile bed is perfect. I love the height because it's easier for my frenchie to get on, and looks great in my room. But what I really love and appreciate is the quality and how sturdy it feels. If you're a fan of industrial looking furniture or have a modern aesthetic, I completely suggest purchasing a Zinus bed frame. This is the second frame I have purchased from the brand. They're stupid easy to assemble, seriously, if you understand pictures and steps, you're golden. I will suggest having two people on this, it can easily be a one-person job, BUT, some of the pieces are heavy and assembling the main body of the frame is much easier with two people. I was a little shocked to realize that there are no feet supporting the sides of the frame, there is only a foot in the center for the crossbeam. The head and foot of the frame are a single beam that runs the entire width of the bed. That being said, the side bars are inch+ thick beams of metal. I weigh about 300 lbs and haven't bent the frame yet (and I sit on the side of the bed to put my shoes on, etc.) This sucker is sturdy. I personally like to hang my feet off the bed so I opted not to have the footboard. I was amazed that the frame still came with a nice little detail if you opt out of the footboard. There is a little strip of wood that runs along the foot of the bed, at this price, they didn't need to include this detail, but I'm so glad they did. The panel on the headboard is solid wood too (or if it's particle board with a veneer, it's a damn good one) I know the wood on the foot is solid, mine got nicked somehow in shipping and it's a solid little slice, not a jagged mess like you see with dented particle board. I will say that the slats are relatively thin and are likely bamboo or another cheap wood like pine. However, with the well supported crossbar, I don't expect to break any slats anytime soon (and if I do, I'll just run to the hardware store and buy sturdier wood for slats) For this price, you cannot pass up this value. You'll have it built in less than an hour and it's a showroom worthy piece. It's an industrial piece so it'll never go out of style and will fit with many types of decor. It's black metal with dark brown stained wood. I doubt you'll be able to find a color that won't pair well with this frame. If I have one complaint, it's that the frame itself is short, I'm a relatively tall guy, and even with a 13" mattress on it it's not 2 foot off the ground (it's just under my knees) that being said, once you're laying on it the height doesn't matter, but I would suggest using a larger mattress with this platform. ... show more
