I purchased this queen bedframe because I wanted the 14 inch clearance for storage underneath the bed and because the leg supports in the corners are set back. Very important for me because I sometimes bang my toes on the corners of bed frames when I walk around the beds. I also wanted to replace my old bed frame that had a headboard and footboard built in. I gained almost an extra foot of space in my small bedroom with this new frame which DOES NOT ACCOMMODATE a headboard or footboard. Those were my reasons. Cost was secondary. This was not he fastest item to put together (took about 45 minutes) but it was the easiest item to assemble that I have ever purchased, bar none. Top quality nuts and bolts, well made frame and get this... Every hole lined up just as they were supposed to so no struggle lining the parts up and forcing the bolts to go in. Every bolt and every part fit as they are supposed to. When completed the bed frame was very sturdy and light enough that a kid could move it around the room. Even the assembly tools that are included in the kit were good quality and can be kept in your tool box for other projects. There were also extra nuts and bolts and other parts included. NOTE... You must tighten the bolts very snug if you do not want the bed frame to squeek later on down the line. Crank them down! The wooden slats are spaced 2 1/2 to 3 inches apart and are well supported by 1" square metal rails underneath and around the outside. The bed frame is flat once assembled and you can put any kind of matress on top of it. Thin, thick, memory foam, it doesn't matter because the top surface of the frame is flat and is the exact same size as your queen matress. The bed frame is 14 inches high so it is meant to replace your box spring. You can still put a box spring down first but that will make your bed very high and difficult to get on unless you are over 6 ft tall. If you have gel foam or are concerned about your matress material squeezing between the wooden slats, just put a fitted piece of 1/4 inch plywood down first. Problem solved. I cannot say enough good things about this bed frame but I highly recommend it and it is well worth spending a few extra dollars to get this frame vs the cheaper frames out there. I searched the amazon site for almost an hour studying each frame before deciding on this one. One of the best decisions I have made was choosing this frame. Thanks Amazon for providing this frame and thanks to the manufacturer for producing such a high quality product. To me, this is a best of the best products. And...     • Three Years.... Three Set Ups... Still Quiet and Sturdy = VERY HAPPY

I am VERY HAPPY with this bedframe. I bought the QUEEN size in 2018 and the set up is super easy. You just unfold the legs, bolt them in TIGHTLY, and done! I moved six months later and lost the bolts but they were easy to replace at HD. I moved again November 2020 and even after a third set up and 3 years of use the bed is still sturdy and it doesn't squeak. I really like that there are no posts on the corners. I live in a city apartment where space is limited... I'm always rushing and usually distracted so I always stubbed my toe on a corner post of my bed frame... which REALLY HURTS! It also makes it easier to place under then access what you store underneath. When I was shopping for this bed frame I was dubious about a model with legs that fold down. I was concerned they would loosen over time making the frame less stable, but I'm happy I did because it is very stable while being much more convenient to move. Just fold down the legs and tape them to the frame, and it's less than 6 inches wide. I recommend placing the bolts in a zip sandwich bag then tape them to the frame as well. ONE CAVEAT: If you have wood floors be careful! When I moved in November the rubber had worn away from the bottom of a center post leaving a VERY DEEP scratch. I was a lucky my landlord is a friend so he was cool, but if it was a management company they probably would have kept my security deposit. I put 1 inch felt self stick pads on ALL the legs (to keep it even) and I'll to keep an eye in case I need to replace any. To be fair rubber wears away over time, so this is to be expected. This bed frame has been pretty much faultless for three years and counting... so fingers crossed... good luck and cheers! ... show more

I bought my daughter the full-size 14" bed frame to store massive junk under her bed, so when it was time to buy another bed, I searched on Amazon until I finally found this matching twin-sized platform. It ships small and light, and assembles quickly (before you finish your beer). It is light-weight steel square tubing. The seven legs are each attached by a captive hinge, and secured by a bolt from above. No creaking or squeaking, very stable. The wood slats lay on top, and are held in place by plastic end sleeves that snap into holes punched in the frame. The nuts and bolts arrive vacuum-sealed to a sheet of cardboard. The plastic covering is too thick, so you must use a razor knife to cut the parts free. Except for the knife, all the tools you need are included on the hardware kit - extra bolts and nuts are included. Since there are only the seven legs under the platform, there is plenty of space to slide plastic bins under the bed from any side. ... show more

*UPDATE:* After having this frame for almost 5 months now, it has begun to squeak like crazy. I have a memory foam mattress on top of it and I can't move on the bed without it making noise. Incredibly annoying. I cannot tighten or oil the joints myself, so this may be part of the issue, but they were very tight when it was put together so I didn't think to expect this. I will also add that I am the only one that sleeps on this bed, I don't move around hardly at all at night, and I weigh less than 160lbs. I ordered the queen size. ------------------------------------------ I am reviewing this frame after only owning for a very short time. I will update if something goes wrong. My family put this together within about 30 minutes. It was very easy and straightforward. The slats are placed very close, so this is a great foundation for foam mattresses. I think ours measured less than 3 inches between each. It seems very sturdy, and the storage space underneath is extremely convenient. We like it a lot. The only complaint from my family after putting it together, is that the allen wrench provided stripped half way through assembly; thus the four start rating.
