First, this isn’t made of solid wood. Solid wood material is a single plank of wood cut to the length and width of the bed frame. It’s engineered wood which is made of pieces of wood, or layers of plywood glued together. If you look closely, you’ll actually see where some sections of the frames were seamed together and finished with a nice wood veneer. Having said that, I don’t think it should automatically discourage you. I do think it’s a well-built bed frame made with cheaper wood alternative to keep costs low for customers like me. I expect to get some use out of it for two years at least. Structurally, it probably won’t hold up with prolonged use and frequent moves that will eventually put stress on the seams and cause them to break apart. Is it a good buy? It depends on why you’re buying. I live in a 1-bedroom apartment and don’t want to invest in expensive furniture until I can afford to move into my forever home. I know I won’t be moving anymore except to a place I own and I won’t use this bed other than to sleep on at night. Also, this bed checked these must-haves off my list: simple, clean style, easy to build, quality and cost. So all that considered, this is an excellent buy for me! ... show more

I’ve never in my many years of purchasing and assembling various furniture of every kind, have had something so well packaged, labeled, prepped and easy to assemble. They even give you a little, one of a kind, ratcheting tool. It’s not as heavy as I thought it would be but that doesn’t mean it isn’t excellent quality. You can tell this is made by a company that really cares. The wood is gorgeous. It does sit a bit lower than other platform beds I have had so keep that in mind when considering this one. ... show more

Really like this bed—the full is perfect for a spare bedroom. Speedy delivery; easy to assemble (I did it by myself and I’m over 70). Very clear instructions and well made component parts came together easily, especially with the enclosed ratchet.

for the price, this is a great value. the assemble process is extremely easy for a bed frame, it took me 25 minutes on my own. production was in good condition. it looks good, simple and unassuming. it does not try to do too much. the slats are held in place by Velcro, so if you are a couple on the larger side, there may be better options for longevity. for a single sleeper, it works perfectly ... show more

Sturdier than I expected. It's a good solid bed frame. For the price, it's really pretty nice. With the instructions, it's easy to put together. If I had to complain about something, it's the initial odor. Clearly either made very recently, or packaged up immediately after gluing and staining, so the smell never dissipated.
