  • Easy to assemble by yourself and great looking product
Color: Grey Size: Queen Style: Standard
So, I had this brilliant idea to buy things previous to moving into my new home, in hopes of moving some stuff ahead of the movers. This package is so heavy that after the UPS driver delivered to my hallway (way to go above and beyond UPS!) I couldn't move it by myself into a truck and I had to wait for the professional movers to move it. This means that I assembled this in a room that had been freshly painted and was slightly cluttered with boxes and a mattress, which wasn't ideal. The best thing about assembling this is that I could do it myself. I started the project assuming that at some point I'd need to call a friend or family member over to help me put the slats on, or hoist the mattress on top of the structure. But, I ended up doing it all by myself (and I'm 40). The headboard comes with all the pieces zipped nicely inside. The instructions are easy to follow and even though I often have pain in my hand I was able to twist the pieces together with minimal effort; it probably took me about three hours due to all the twisting involved. I recommend that when you get to adding the sideboards loosen the screws before placing over the metal pieces, then lightly screw them in with the provided Allen wrench before adding the other side. I made the minor mistake of really tightening the left sideboards before moving to the right and this required me to really loosen the right side boards before placing down and then tightening up again. When I got to the last step of adding the slats I was thrilled to find they were velcroed together so they just needed to be unrolled and lined up again before pressing down to ensure the vecro stuck good. I envisioned loose boards that would slide when I started pushing the mattress onto the frame. But, I had no problem with anything moving while putting the mattress on. In the end I'm really satisfied with how inexpensive this was, how easy it was to put together, and the quality of the frame. I tend to roll around a lot sleeping (which caused my previous bed to slide off the cheap metal frame) and this frame hasn't budged. The headboard is nice and sturdy and I don't even have it leaning against a wall. This frame looks really modern and streamlined. The grey will go with most decor. I'm really happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. Side note: I did order some vinyl recently, as the fabric inspires my cats to jump on top of the headboard and claw (like I bought a long scratch pad for them), and I want to cover it up with some vinyl attached with furniture tacks to deter this behavior. So, if you have felines you may have a scratching issue as well. ... show more

  • This bed is a Beauty!
Color: Grey Size: Twin Style: Standard
This bed frame is high quality. At first i was alittle skeptical about buying this type of item over the internet. But it was a very good purchase. I thought this bed was going to be lower than my old bed but to my surprise it was not, it was actually higher, i did buy a thick mattress which is 11.5" This bed looks more expensive than what i paid for. it looks like one of those big name showroom beds, im not kidding. another thing that i like is that the space under the bed is much bigger than my old bed so i can store more stuff under the bed. Building the bed was easy and i got all the right parts sent. This bed has a modern chic design to it. if you're into victorian stuff this wont fit your style. Ok as far as the strength of this bed, I am a 5'10" 260 pound bodybuilder and the bed feels solid, no noise or nothing, this says alot. When building the bed it looked solid as well. Ok now for the very few bad things about the bed. It is only 3 things. the first is, i wish the grey color was lighter, it is a dark grey color. second, i wish the head board was taller, cause when you put the pillows near the headboard it covers some of the board. Third, the corner foots are made of plastic, they should have been wood but other than those 3 things this bed is totally awesome. This bed is worth every penny so glad i rolled the dice on buying this and scored. Maybe in the future i can reinforce the bed so it can last even longer. Right now i gave it 5 stars but i will be updating this comment if something bad happens. i put this in my room and will be coloring the wall thats behind the headboard to a lighter colorful shade so it can give it some contrast. im very good at decoring so i know what to do. This bed review is for the Twin size bed, just to let you guys know. do yourself a favor and buy this beauty. ... show more

  • Well Designed
Color: Grey Size: King Style: Standard
We love the look and feel of the bed frame, but the main reason for the 5-star review is because of the excellent design and ease of construction. From the clever packaging with all the materials zipped inside the headboard, to the clear instructions, my spouse could not stop raving about the experience of putting it together. We've put together lots of furniture, and after awhile you start to notice clear differences in design (IKEA is generally well-designed as far as do-it-yourself furniture goes; the "budget" items from our local furniture store are pretty terrible to put together). This is some of the best we have seen. It took under an hour for my spouse to put together the entire bed frame, with minimal help from me (there was one part that he could have done himself, but thought would be easier with a second set of hands, and one place in the instructions that he was struggling to interpret, so I took a look and saw very quickly what needed to be done). We have had the finished product for about a month now, and are very satisfied. You cannot beat the price, and the bed frame looks and feels like a good quality bed frame, and feels much sturdier than some of the bed frames we looked at in stores that cost twice as much or more. To me, the most important thing is the stability - I want no creaking or rocking when my husband rolls over in the night - and I have slept very soundly on the frame (we are using a Caspar mattress, with no base in addition to the slats). Movement from the other side of the bed rarely registers. We are so happy with our purchase that we are planning to buy another Zinus bed frame instead of replacing a damaged box spring in our guest bedroom. The cost is basically the same, it will serve the same function, AND we get a classy-looking bed! ... show more

  • awesome bed!
Color: Grey Size: Twin Style: Standard
i don’t usually leave reviews on products unless i really, really love it. we had to replace a bed in our house and i was put to the task of looking for a new one on amazon. i searched for so many different types... wooden, metal, drawers included, headboards, etc. , when i came upon this bed. the reviews seemed stellar, and it seemed like a reasonable price. so... i ordered it! packaging: it came in one big box, and i was a little concerned that not all of the pieces were in there. but, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that everything was inside the headboard. this made cleanup much easier than we thought. assembly: putting it together took about an hour (for amateurs) and everything was extremely clear and all the pieces were included. if you’ve never put anything together, this is a nice bed to get. there were a lot of simple steps, stated and illustrated clearly, which made everything so much easier. i loved that it came with a ratchet wrench, and all the parts included. i had no problems with missing pieces. afterwards: the bed is really nice and sturdy, upholstered headboard is beautiful, height off the ground is just right, and one super important thing is that everything looks and comes just like the pictures. there’s no bait and switch here, it’s really nice. overall: amazing bed, high quality, good price, and really nice addition to our house! ... show more

  • Easy, Stylish, Affordable. I like it.
Color: Grey Size: Queen Style: Standard
I purchased this bed after the IKEA Hemme frame I owned finally gave in. The areas that keep the headboard and footboard together would come loose and one of the metal rails that hold the slats on broke off, which caused the boxspring and mattress to fall when the bed...ahem...moves. I had considered buying another one but the thought of driving all the way to the B&M store, parking in their huge lot, running in to find the bed and load it on my cart and then trying to figure out how to get it in my small car had me anxious. I decided to see what Amazon had in store (pun intended) I perused the site and it really did not take me long to find this one. I like the clean, simple but also stylish look of it. I have been eyeing the beds that have the upholstery headboard/frame but need and cost weighed against it. Well, I had a need and the cost was around what I was OK with spending. It's actually about $75 less than the one at IKEA - and couple that with the time, energy and lack of a headache worrying about getting it to my door w/ FREE delivery?!?, I was pretty much sold. I liked the tan one but thought the blue/grey might better suit my decor need, so I went with that. Now that I have it, I'm happy I made that choice. Driver rang my doorbell and by the time I got to the door I was able to catch a brief glimpse of the delivery guy. The bed frame was in a huge box on my wall. Cool, I thought. Well, I go outside to bring it in. Wouldn't budge. I called my son for help. I'm a female about 5"4 (not tellin my weight, thankyouverymuch) and my son is a big guy. We ended up SLIDING the box and slightly lifting it over the door step. Even that had us tired and out of breath. We barely got it into the living room, it is really really heavy. Like, really heavy. No wonder the driver left it withought waiting for us to come to door. He was probably thinking there is no way I'm taking that back to the truck. I don't blame him. Got my other bed (by this time it was being held up by a small stool, a wing and a prayer) dismantled, cleared and out of the way. RIP, IKEA bed. You gave me many years of service. I salute and thank you. Now to get the new bed up. As stated by others, the tools, tails, slats - everything is in the zippered headboard. You would think it would be light weight but ( and I know I said this already) it's REALLY heavy. This is not a bad thing at all. Got the instructions out and was ready to work. As you may have guessed with many beds now, it requires those screws that need an L shape Allen wrench. I really hate those things - but as the saying goes you gotta dance with the one that bought ya. In this case, the bed called for these screws so I had to work with these screws. Luckily years ago we had purchased a tool that looks like a multi tip screwdriver but it has various allen wrench tips so it's way easier to hold and work with. Assembly of the side rails was pretty simple and attaching the upholstered base to them was easy - if not a bit time consuming. Where I ran into trouble was hitching the headboard to the rails. It did not make sense and the instruction was lacking. Took a while for me to realize you have to unscrew the srews (that are already attached to the headboard), hook them onto the railing and then rescrew, tighten them back. DUH. Once that was done, I attached the footboard, put the slats in (which is held on by velcro) and that part was done. I ended up using my boxspring with mattress even though you don't have to. Not using it is too low for my taste but with it is kinda high. Well at least a little higher than my other bed but it's still fine. It feels sturdy and looks good. Not to mention I don't have to worry about crashing to the floor everytime the bed...moves. All in all, I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Minus one because of the hiccup in the instruction not spelling out that you need to unscrew the screws to attach footboard and headboard. Maybe it's a no brainer and all but I just feel that should've been made clearer. Still, it's a nice bed, looks great and for the cost was IMO worth it. I do recommend. ... show more

  • Fantastic buy, easy install, great product for price
Color: Grey Size: King Style: Standard
Originally wanted the tufted bed frame in taupe (out of stock) but this is comparable (though doesn't have PRIME shipping). We ordered King to replace our old boxspring combo (and were planning on getting a new mattress in the near future). It took a couple days for the order to process. Since it isn't prime, it took about a week to ship/deliver. It actually came on the early estimated delivery date, so we weren't ready for it. We had to quickly move our old furniture to make room for the new frame. The packaging was spot on: it was well packaged so there would be no damaged in shipping, it was easy to open, and all the stuff came in the back of the headboard. Other reviews stated that the backing on the headboard was easy to rip, so we looked for that, but ours was just fine. No missing parts, no loose framing, no ripping, no torn packaging. Everything A-OK. It took less than an hour to completely put the entire frame and bed together, including putting the mattress and bedding on. The wooden slats are velcro-ed together--I find this convenient in that they don't slide around and are evenly spaced, giving optimal support. It was easy to install, looks amazing, and our mattress fit well on it. (There's a little gap near the bottom to tuck in the bedding that I found perfect.) The mattress I thought we would have to replace fits great on it and with the great support of this new frame feels like a brand new bed (it's only a year old) saving us $$$ we would have spent if we kept our old boxspring and frame set. This again looks at the slatting being properly spaced and sturdy enough to properly hold up the mattress. After having it a few days, we've woken up feeling great on the same mattress. We've been wanting to stay in bedroom more because the it just looks so much better. The design is nice, and you can't beat it for the price. It's lovely to look at, nice to lean up against while lounging in bed, hasn't squeaked or moved during the night, and is an overall great product. ... show more

  • It is beautiful! Sturdy and so nice looking.
Color: Grey Size: Queen Style: Standard
This is a great bed! I bought the queen size for my son and it is really nice looking. The headboard is really firm with a nice touch of fabric. The color is great - a nice dark grey. It was amazingly easy to set up my daughter and I set it up in about 30 mins. The slats are the full width of the bed and are firm to put in, meaning you may have to push the sides out a bit to get it to fit but the snugness makes it much more sturdy. You might have to do this to fit the side bars too - just a slight push to get it to fall into place is all that is needed. But two people may be required....would not be impossible with one but will take longer. The sides are are in 2 pieces and all fit neatly into their spots. The support is heavy metal and definitely looks like it will last. It even came with a ratcheting allen wrench - not just the simple L most give. Very impressive. Overall, for $250, this was a very good buy. Did not buy the mattress from Amazon though - the reviews for most are so wonky. Wayfair has a great 10" memory foam for about $200 that my son states is truly amazing to sleep on :). For $500 a great new queen bed! Can't go wrong with that :). ... show more

  • This bed is worth so much more than what you pay.
Color: Grey Size: Queen Style: Standard
I unboxed my bed tonight, ready to build. I wasn't expecting much for a queen sized platform bed costing a little over $200. Well, I cannot tell you how much I am blown away by this bed! I have no affiliation with the seller or the manufacturer, but I'm going to sing their praises from the roof tops. When I opened the box, I was immediately greeted with another box inside. This thing is packaged well. I was already impressed, and confident there wouldn't be any transport damage, which I was correct to presume, it was perfect. The first thing I noticed once the inner box was open, is how tidy this thing is packaged... All inside the headboard. It is almost like the headboard is like a travel case. That was it!! i'm excited, I love little titbits like that. We all know, when it comes to that time when we decide to move, one of the hardest things to transport is the bed, not this thing, just strip it down, put it all back in the headboard... Presto! problem solved! Once I had removed all the items from the headboard (which isn't many.) You can really tell the quality of the materials used, this thing feels expensive. I love the fact that the centre frame is only two separate pieces, which expands into a fully cross section, which is so sturdy. Even the headboard, the base board and the 4 side sections are all very well made, nothing feels cheap or flimsy. and thats all the parts you get, apart from the Lats, which again isn't 20 pieces of flimsy wood, with silly cheap plastic clips on the ends which never fir the holes. These Lats come in two bundles. each bundle all the Lats are connected with strong velcro straps, once the frame is made, you just lay these Lats on top. Summery.. Not only does this bed look more expensive than it actually is, it is build to a higher quality you would expect to find in much much more expensive platform beds. It can be stripped down and all the parts stored in the headboard. It doesn't contain a thousand pieces. It really does only take 20 mins max to build. I'm that impressed, I wouldn't in a month of Sundays, dream of writing such a detailed review on a bed - haha. If you have any doubts, please don't, I guarantee you will be amazed by this bed. ... show more
