When I bought this I was just looking for something relatively cheap so I could have my mattress off the floor finally. I was not expecting to like this frame as much as I did. Assembly was super easy, once I figured out the best way to put the slats in it was a breeze to finish. The pleather looks really good, it’s a beautiful color. No tears or scratches in it and that’s with having a puppy that jumps all over everything. The only reason I got rid of it was because I got a bigger bed, but I gave it to some friends and they love it as well. I love the Zinus brand but this particular one has a very annoying setup with all the slats in separate pieces. Usually they’re all connected & it takes 30 seconds to roll out the connected wooden slats. This one has plastic ends & middle pieces that need to fitted on. Very time consuming. Would not have purchased if aware of the difference! Otherwise a sturdy bed but your mattress doesn’t lay flush on the frame since the slats are slightly arched. ... show more

Reading reviews on the negative side didn’t seem like they are correct. Easy to put together. Durability is fine. No problems so far at all. I had bought a Zinius mattress prior so all worked out.

This was really a fantastic purchase. Yes you can buy an extremely similar looking cheapo version for half the price on Amazon. But this is still a wonderfully affordable bed and the finishing touches and flourishes for spending a little more really show. Starting from the assembly phase. Inside the main box was just one item--the headboard. And it zips open to contain everything else. It may sound like a trivial thing, but it let me know from the get-go that they took some time to cleverly design this product/packaging. Also, the headboard which zips open in the back would be a good place to hide money or anything else. I thought about stuffing it with bundled 100-dollar bills, but then remembered that I don't have any of those. So my next thought was to put the instructions and included tools and extra hardware in there. But I worried it might rattle around in there, so in the end I left it empty. Still cool though. The instructions were mostly illustrations, but did have some helpful English text. They bolts all used the same allen key size and they even included a handy little ratchet. Putting it together probably took 2-3 hours, but I did laundry and a few other small chores at the same time. Setting it up was fairly easy for 1 person, but moving a king-sized mattress onto it could be difficult for some people. I ordered the Olee Sleep 13-Inch Galazy Hybrid mattress at the same time, and that works great on my bed. I think the bed + mattress would be a perfect height for most people. I'm a little paranoid about my toddler falling off since he sleeps on this occasionally. So if I did it over, I would have bought a thinner mattress. The bed slats are bowed upward such that they give a springlike action which I think improves the overall comfort versus flat-slatted beds. I was slightly annoyed by the insert saying that by buying this product, you agree to settle any disputes by arbitration. I doubt that is enforceable given that people didn't even know they were making any such "agreement" when ordering the item. It says you can mail them within 30 days to opt out, but it's obnoxious and doesn't feel like a company which stands by their products. But it's not bad enough for me to deduct the 5th star from this otherwise great product! ... show more

Purchased several years ago, this bed has not aged well. The fabric has torn a lot over the years just from the rubbing from the mattress. No complaints about the support, it does seem sturdy enough in that regard. At this price point, it is a terrible purchase. You can get much better quality for much cheaper. I would only recommend this at a substantial discount, and only if you don't care about quality appearance. ... show more

At about $150 for a king sized frame, I think it was a pretty good deal. I’m not rather picky and this is mostly likely furniture I’ll be moving to a guest room eventually. It was easy to assemble and there are tools provided; however, I will say that you might want to use your own ratchet...the one provided was a little wonky but got the job done. I was able to assemble by myself within 45mins to an hour.It’s pretty sturdy, though I wish it was slightly taller. Fits a king mattress well. I don’t mind the color (black) and the faux leather...I think it looks good and serves its purpose. Depending on your furniture accents, I’m pretty confident it would blend in well with anything in deeper brown and black tones. ... show more
