This review is for the Zinus Banded Grey headboard, size Twin. I have a Zinus bedframe, so why not a Zinus headboard? The fabric portion is squishably soft. I had the foresight to buy brackets beforehand. Please be sure to check if you have a need for brackets. If you don't need brackets, then this has all the hardware necessary for installation. A few things could be better. Unless your mattress is a minimum of 8 inches tall, there is a gap you will need to worry about. The construction itself is not bad, it's the dimensions that are slightly off. One side of the headboard mounts flush to the bracket, but the other side is about a centimeter off. It made installing on this side difficult. If you are tight on space, this could potentially be an issue. The last thing is the back of the headboard. When you push your bed against the wall, unless you have no baseboards, there will be a tiny gap between the headboard and the wall. If you lay against the headboard, you will be bumping the wall every time. This will eventually lead to scratches on the wall. I put double-sided tape to prevent scratching as well as soften the sound when the headboard hits the wall. As a whole, this is a good product. I got this last night, thinking it would be a make-do until I found a real headboard later. It arrived undamaged, the assembly instructions were dead simple to follow (if you can count to 5, you're set), and it was about 30 minutes from opening the box to tightening the last screw to attach my headboard to the bed. It's both taller and heavier than I expected, and the padding under the upholstery panels is quite a bit thicker. The screws for assembly are sturdy, the tools they included took care of putting it together. I had to pull some tools out of the garage to attach it to my bed base, but only because that has an unusual set of bolts. It's a good price, for a decent piece of furniture. ... show more

NOTE: If you're buying the Zinus Quick Snap TM 18 Inch Platform Bed Frame, you do NOT need the brackets the website indicates are optional of the package. This fits the frame without any additional parts. OUTSTANDING BED! BUY THIS! Very easy to put together!!!

I was able to put the headboard together by myself in less than twenty minutes. The headboard looks good and is very solid. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how it looks when it is attached to my bed because the headboard doesn't come with the mounting brackets that I need to mount it to the Zinius frame, which I also bought. I would have been happy to order the brackets, but I didn't see anything on the product page that lets me know that the headboard does not come with brackets, the bed frame doesn't come with brackets.Why not? Why not be clear about that? Now I have to pay an extra $12 and wait a few more days before I can be done with this project. And don't tell me to look at the comments - for some reason the comments disagree on whether the extra brackets are required. ... show more

I recently purchased a purple mattress and base and was looking for a new headboard as I had replaced my Queen bed with a King. I like the modern look of the headboard and it compliments the rest of my room well. The frame seems well constructed and was packaged well. I bought this and used Zinus connectors to mount it to my bed frame. The connectors came with a ratcheting hex bolt tool which made these super easy to install. It would take longer (not harder) to install with a standard hex bolt tool. A screw gun is even better. I expect to have to tighten these twice a year, but that's anything bolt-together. I think it looks great, and it's surprisingly comfortable because the cushions are thicker that I expected. I think most complaints people had were because the top of the frame will hit the wall when you lean against it, but I stuck a couple of those furniture slider pads (from the dollar store) on it and haven't had an issue with sound at all. In the second picture you can see the pad I added to left-top (next to assembly #5) and the top-middle of the back of the headboard. I'm pretty satisfied with this overall. ... show more

I really like the fact that it's all metal and none of that cheap wood that I've seen too many times. Also, the cushion on the headboard is very soft. For the price, this really can't be beat. Took a chance buying (twin) with no review..but glad I did. The headboard came VERY well packaged, including hardware and SIMPLE instructions. Took about 10 mins to assemble and you DO NOT need additional tools. Well-made, heavy duty aluminum frame along with very nice padded area with quality material with solid seams. This will last a long time! *** Only negative is that there is no additional brackets to install to frame... MAKE SURE to measure. ... show more
