*The Pitch*: We were looking for a bed frame to replace the ancient 70’s metal frame in our guest room. *The Package*: This is a retail package. The frame comes tightly packed in a full color printed cardboard box. *The Fit*: So… this seemed like a perfect fit for our needs. We really liked the black powder-coated metal frame. It just looks better than the old ugly gray metal. The setup was relatively easy all the way until the very end. Unfortunately, there was a critical problem with the very last piece of the frame to be installed according to the directions. It is a key support piece that is supposed to be screwed into the middle of the frame on the bottom (providing stress-relief to the other support cross beams on the bottom of the frame). This piece did not have any threading on it, so it couldn’t be screwed in (as the directions instructed). We couldn’t finish setting up the frame until we had a correctly cast version of this piece. But our problems, as it turns out, had only just begun. We have now communicated with the support staff for Zinus a total of 5 times. The first time we called their support number. We were then told that we couldn’t call unless we submitted an email support request first. We were directed to the website to do so then unceremoniously hung up on! Now, you might think that maybe we just got one bad rep. But no, sadly that wasn’t the case. Over the four email communications, we have been given such a frustrating runaround. We’ve been told that it wasn’t possible to get a part with that defect. We’ve been asked to send pictures of the defective part three times now. We’ve been told that they cannot refer to our Amazon order number, that we have to use our Zinus order number otherwise we won’t get support. For the record, we bought this on Amazon (you can see my confirmed purchase), NOT the Zinus store. We don’t have a Zinus order number. If you read my other reviews, you’ll see that I’m not prone to hyperbole. I try to come at product reviews with a pragmatic approach. I don’t like using extreme terms to describe things. However, I can easily say that this is one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. *The Good*: The frame is attractive and the bad part we received is almost certainly just a fluke. *The Bad*: We got a defective part that is integral to the construction and support of the frame. It cannot be completed without this part. *The Ugly*: Zinus customer support is awful. We simply asked them to send a replacement for a defective part (that likely wasn’t more than a $5 part) and they have given us an unholy runaround. *The Bottom Line*: After this experience, I would *never* buy a Zinus product again. Unfortunately for us, due to circumstances we had to wait until after the 30-day return period to put this together so we were unable to return it. $90 down the drain.

This metal platform queen bed exceeded my expectations! Assembly was quick and straightforward—I was able to put it together easily without any extra tools or frustration. After getting rid of our busted up old wooden bed frame, we decided it was time to invest in something more modern. I went with this bed frame because of the value, the modern look, and the storage capacity underneath. I had the bed frame out of the box and fully assembled by myself in about 30 minutes. The tool that it comes with is incredible, and I plan to hang onto it for other projects around the house. It's basically and allen wrench / wrench hybrid that makes installing the frame a breeze. Everything was nicely packaged and I loved how intuitive the instructions were. In short, you find the pieces that are labeled "5" (for example), and you know that they all connect to each other. Nicely done on the manufacturers end. The frame itself feels very sturdy and you CAN indeed use a box frame if you prefer a higher sleeping experience, although you don't have to. I don't have any feelings that the frame will suddenly collapse or fall apart. It is truly a high quality product. The only thing I would have liked to have seen would be more protection for your floors. We were worried that the bed frame legs could puncture our new carpet or scratch hardwood floor. Perhaps including some sort of protection would be worth looking into for future models. For now, we're using cardboard until we can get proper furniture slides.

Let's get this out of the way, you're getting what you pay for. It's not an expensive, robust, lifelong bed frame. It is a cost effective, quality for price, and well thought out frame at this price point. It was very easy to assemble with little to no faff. There were some extra bits that were really nice, like the rubber grommets supporting the slats, and the wrench to tighten everything. All the pieces lined up well, and I was done building it within 30 minutes. My only advice is that, when installing the bolts(specifically on the corners on the frame), to be careful of over tightening. You might feel like the bolt just keeps going, but this is due to the frame collapsing in from the torque. As mentioned, this is a great bargain, but there are some sacrifices that need to be made(like material) that you need to be ok with. Definitely suggest if you need a quick bed frame for a guest room for family, as was my case

The media could not be loaded. It was easy to assemble but the last few pieces didn’t fit as they are supposed to which means the bed frame will not be secured and steady. Plus another picture where the holes are supposed to match up and not matched up and can’t place a screw in the holes
