  • Strong and yet affordable
Size: Queen Style: 7 inch Pattern Name: Original
Had never heard of a box spring that is not made from wood. At first, I was skeptical to order a box spring from steel. My skepticism then got slightly worse when I read some negative reviews about "OHM, it takes too long to assemble!" Being an engineer and an optimist upon reading majority of great reviews, I went ahead and placed an order for queen box spring. Not only it arrived in time but it was also well-packed. It is heavy and you will need 2 people to carry the box from outside to your bedroom. Once I unopened the box, I was surprised to find the individual pieces tied up in groups based where they all go. Every single piece is numbered and lettered. A piece numbered "1" connects to another piece numbered "1", numbered "2" connects with another numbered "2". Very simple and easy. The kit also comes with tools. The part breakdown is as per below: A (inner long rail) = 2 B (inner short rail) = 1 C (outer short rail) = 2 D (outer long rail-1) = 2 E (outer long rail-2) = 2 F (Slats) = 10 S (shortest screws) = 8 M (mid-length screws) = 4 L (long screws) = 2 H (nuts) = 10 The best advice is that open the box, remove the cable ties, lay out all parts on floor as per the intended connection and get an idea of who connects to who (without actually assembling). It is otherwise called a "raw" or a "draft" assembly". Once it is done, it takes 30 minutes MAX to connect all components. I then put the cover on it and zipped it up. Voila, it was now ready to be placed on the bed. The moment of truth was moments away. My daughter and I lifted it up and placed it on her queen bed. It fit perfectly. We then put the mattress and lied down on it. It is very sturdy and does not squeak upon rolling. Overall, it is very strong and affordable. Here is the best part. It can be unassembled and moved to another place much easily (than the traditional wood box spring). I highly recommend it. Buy it with full confidence! ... show more

  • Absolutely silent, excellent construction and easy to assemble
Size: Queen Style: 7 inch Pattern Name: Original
I am impressed with this box-spring. The quality of the build is excellent, and the craftsmanship impressed me. Years ago I delivered furniture, having put together many different types of furniture, beds etc. I have seen some alternative box-springs and whatnot, but this takes the cake. Unlike a traditional box-spring made with wood, this is not going to wear down over time and squeak due to the grip of the nails in the wood (a common issue with squeaking in construction). First, assembly took me about 20 minutes, and I didn't even need the instructions. I was able to put this together easily by myself and move it by myself as well. The parts are marked "up" conveniently where you might go astray in the build, and it stays together well enough before adding the bolts/nuts so that one person can do it alone, provided you do it on a flat surface such as the floor. I love that this boxspring can come apart too, if anyone needs to get it into a tight area (the worst part of a bed delivery, imo is the box-spring as it cannot bend/fold). I have gone from a two part box spring for a queen mattress down to this and it makes NO sound whatsoever. Craftsmanship is excellent, and the parts fit together like a glove. The "slats" are not attached by screws, rather just sitting in place, but they are wedged in place and do not move out of place. Only weak spot I thought of was having the zipper face down so that the zipper part of it sits on frame (thus possibly cracking the zipper or its mechanism) but the zipper comes toward the center of the box-spring far enough to clear the side boards of my bed, so I will have to see if the zipper takes damage over time from the downward pressure. Certainly not going to knock anything for that. Edit: Dec 1, 2017: This is still absolutely quiet and no squeaks at all over the past couple months. Really highly recommend this box spring to anyone looking for a lifelong keeper. Edit: July, 2019: Still a perfect boxspring! Edit: July 2024: Still a perfect boxspring! ... show more

  • Totally awesome - bed foundation
Size: Queen Style: 7 inch Pattern Name: Original
This is the only way to buy a box spring. This was so easy to assemble. The instructions make it totally simple. The parts are numbered, you lay it all out, and then literally start assembling in numerical order. The fitted cover slips on over the top and it is ready to put the mattress on. If I ever need a box spring or know someone that does I will recommend this assemble yourself box spring. It was fun to put together, great quality, sturdy. A cute little thing they do that is really smart - they include a thank you and a Hello you card that is blank inside so you can now use them to send onto someone. As they said they hate to be wasteful so they say hello you and thank you but the cards are there for you to use now. Yes - you still need a bed frame for under this box spring and a mattress for on top - I am including this comment because I have had people ask me! LOL I did not read on the slip on cover if it is washable but I would assume it is which is another bonus should you ever have an episode of critters or any other reason you may want to wash this - regular foundations do not offer that option. I bought this for an older gentleman and already put it at his house so can not read the label on the cover now. YES - I would recommend this to anyone ... show more

  • Impressive product — but is it a box spring if there are no springs?
Size: Queen Style: 7 inch Pattern Name: Original
It took me 55 minutes working at a leisurely pace to put the frame together— by myself. Thank you including spare parts. Very thoughtful. I didn’t need them, but the gesture is appreciated. Love the little ratchet! It certainly does make the job easier. The mattress foundation is very sturdy and the engineering thought behind it is impressive. One question: you have an insert joint at 5&6 which makes sense for providing additional strength at the corners. Why is there not the same construction at 3&4? As a consumer, my impression is that the insert design seems as though it would be stronger at this junction. That said, the bracket ledge and a firm tightening on the bolts does make this junction secure. I’m just wondering if — long term — that wouldn’t be a stronger design. The note cards were a surprise and a thoughtful, cute marketing tool. Since you asked for a Review, I thought you might have a link to reviews on your website that would then feed to amazon, etc. I was surprised you didn’t have one, so my review is here for all to see. Great product. I feel confident I’ll feel that way in six months and six years from now. Offering quality at a fair price is greatly appreciated. ... show more

  • lightweight once assembled sturdy and useful
Size: Queen Style: 7 inch Pattern Name: Original
If you are staring at this in your cart like I did for several weeks, BUY THIS! I am full figured and hubby is a rough sleeper and this sturdy assembly holds us well I have it placed on a platform frame I also bought here and both are holding up well. Because of the metal on metal, I secured the box spring to the platform frame using zip ties two on top and to at the foot of the assembly and it dont shift as much as some others have said. It lifts us up enough I dont feel like I am sleeping on the floor anymore (platform only sits the bed about 18 inches from floor I got the 7in lift and it makes all the difference) I was skeptical about buying a boxspring in pieces but the assembly is fairly easy if YOU FOLLOW THE PICS NOT THE WORDS. The numbers are placed a bit wonky on the pieces but it goes together well. I'll update in a few months after nightly use and let you know how it holds up ... show more

  • Well Made, Sturdy, and Easy to Assemble
Size: Twin Style: 7 inch Pattern Name: Original
So long has it been since I bought a box spring, that when I looked them up on Amazon, I fully expected to be buying a wooden box spring with the wooden slats. I hadn't known that they pretty much all switched over to metal box springs that have to be assembled. There is such a variety of them on Amazon, that I looked at other people's reviews for a good rating, and particularly ones that were reviewed to be easy to assemble. This one had a high rating and was generally rated high for ease of assembly. The price was right, so I sprung for it (no pun intended). It did not disappoint. It arrived quickly, in fact sooner than they had predicted. It took one person less than an hour to assemble with the included tool. It sits solidly on the bedframe, and we are now enjoying its support! ... show more

  • Not as easy as you may think
Size: Queen Style: 7 inch Pattern Name: Original
This makes for a heavy package, but if you thought it therefore would be packed securely, you'd be wrong. That was the first problem. The box had evidently been dropped at some point in shipment, which isn't surprising, but in the flimsy shipping box and (largely non-existent) interior packing, the contents were a mess. Most of the zip ties bundling things together had broken, and the contents were scrambled together. Assembly was the next problem. Happily, I'm a mechanical engineer, and the assembly wasn't difficult, but the instructions weren't very clear, and the parts didn't fit together neatly. If you don't have a machinist's punch (which I did) or similar tool for aligning screw holes, you may be in quite a pickle. Perhaps the pieces were just a little bent from the box being dropped (back to the first problem). In the end, I got the thing together, and it seems to work fairly well, although it makes a few strange creaks when you turn over in bed. Also, one minor piece (a plastic end cap) was missing, which turned out to be more annoying than it might seem. The kit included a few extra assembly screws and whatnot, but NOT another end-cap, which has significant functionality, including preventing strange creaks. A spare should have been included. So I disagree with those reviewers who say the assembly was a snap. It isn't, and it may be a trial for those without the aptitude and extra tools that may be necessary to do it. ... show more
