This mattress topper is truly impressive. Most memory foam is hot, and I am a very, very hot sleeper, so I was nervous about getting anything memory foam. But this is incredible! Not only is it not hot...it's actually a little cool! This lets me pile on the blankets like I like to do (and haven't been able to do properly since I was about 13 years old) and not overheat. Amazing product. I recommend this enthusiastically to anyone who sleeps hot. And, of course, it's also nice and soft. I actually got it to go under a thin, fabric mattress topper I already have, because I needed more cushioning for the awful, hard mattress I have (I call it the snare drum). I prefer the feel of fabric, and this combination works perfectly. The gel memory foam gives me the thick, soft, squishy layer of coolness, and with the thin fabric topper over that, it's like I have a completely new mattress! The snare drum is now the comfy cloud. More information you might want: This gel topper doesn't smell like some standard memory foam toppers. There's also no scary time waiting for the foam to expand; it doesn't squish into nothingness and it doesn't come this way either (it just comes rolled). So far, I've seen no evidence that the blue color transfers to light fabric (I'll update this review if that changes). If you're worried about the topper not having fitted sides to grip your mattress, (1) I wouldn't worry because it seems to stay in place well, even as you're trying to move it, and (2) you can always get a cheap, fitted fabric topper for on top, too. Be a little gentle as you're pulling the topper out of the bag (or just cut the bag it comes in), as its wonderful non-slip surface can mean you pull so hard on it you tear it a little. I was very impressed though; I tore mine a little, but when I put it on the bed, you can't even see (or feel) the tear. So, if you do tear it a little in the center while yanking on it, don't even worry. Definitely worth the money. Great price! Great product! ... show more

I ordered this particular pad due partly to the price and partly to the happy reviewers. I'd been searching for awhile and was tiring of reading reviews, so, because this was within my budget, I took a chance and am I ever I glad I did. Of course, as soon as I opened it I saw "China" printed on the packaging. I had looked at so many that I never looked to see if this was made in the USA, but it did say it was certified free of all the nasty chemicals I have a sensitivity to. As soon as I pulled it out of the box, the wrap came loose and it pulled right off. It was fully uncompressed within half an hour and I let it air out for a couple of hours. The smell wasn't terrible, so I stripped my bed and laid it out to finish airing and we made the bed just before retiring. I had bought a wonderful faux down topper a couple of years ago from a company that sold bedding made by veterans. I love it, but our bed is still too hard for us so we got this gel memory foam topper and we put the padded mattress cover over it. Well, let me tell you, it is like getting up on a cloud! It really has helped with morning stiffness and we are sleeping better, waking up fewer times through the night. There's no way to predict what your experience would be with this pad, but mine has been totally positive in every way. It did have a light odor, but nothing like other memory foam products I've had through the years that the smell knocked me over and lasted for weeks. I could smell a very faint odor when getting into bed for a few nights only, and it wasn't bad. I am extremely sensitive to smells, and it didn't bother me. Also, like the description states, the dimensions are slightly smaller than the mattress to ensure a good fit with the sheet. That's not bad, and with the other pad over it, you'd never know. And, it generates no heat and that is a big issue for me. However, I can't say it how it would be with just the sheet covering it. Listen, it's worth a try for the price. We're very happy we got it and have been sleeping better for almost a month on it. ... show more

    • Well worth it! Cozy, comfy, fairly priced for the quality!
What a fantastic addition to your everyday mattress! I have a queen size pillow top/memory foam top mattress. It's a standard spring mattress with a little extra cushion. Not super fancy. This memory foam mattress topper makes my bed absolutely luxurious. It's like sleeping on a bed of soft marshmallows! There was little to No chemical scent right out of the box. If any, the scent is so faint I couldn't tell and I slept on it the first night out of the box. My only reason for it being 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is a little on the soft side for me. I wish it were just slightly firmer and didn't sink quite so much when you lay on it. Also, it's about an inch short of the mattress on every side which is a little annoying but not super noticeable. All in all, for the price, this is an amazing product. It's very comfortable, very affordable for the quality, hardly any scent, cooling feature is great for hot sleepers, and it adds luxury to any average mattress. I would definitely buy for every bed and again. Well worth it! ... show more
