The Zhiyun Crane M2S Camera Gimbal is my third gimbal purchased from Zhiyun. I continue to buy their products because their products work as advertised, helpful customer support, and consistently good value for the money. The Crane M2S gimbal occupies a space between my $400 Zhiyun Crane M3 Pro which I use for professional film-making at wedding venues and the $100 Zhiyun Smooth Q3 3-Axis I first purchased a couple years ago for my children's sporting events. The M2S has most of the features of the more expensive Crane M3 Pro gimbal but is quicker to set up and use for a wider variety of filming tasks. I feel more comfortable taking this gimbal out to a festival or sporting event and it does just about everything I need. It came compatible to use with a DSLR, mirrorless, GoPro, or smartphone camera, however it didn't include the mount for a smartphone. Luckily I already had a mount and was using it after 20 minutes of set-up (QR codes open PDF and video tutorials which is helpful) and calibration- most of which was spent setting up the app. Being a much less complicated tool than the M3 Pro, I was pleased to see that it included the addition of a fill light with five levels of adjustment, 1000 lumen brightness, 5500k warmth, and 4 color filters just as the pricier model did. This inclusion alone is great because it now opens up a world of low light filming conditions- my kids play sports in a variety of weather because we live in snowy, mountainous country.Versatility is quite pleasing at this price point. The build quality is superior to the Smooth Q3 gimbal I first bought, which is a testament to Zhiyun's responsiveness to their customer base. It weighs about 1.2lbs overall. All the motors move fluidly, the on-board computer interface is easy to navigate, and the control positions are intuitive. Another improvement over the Q3 is the quick-change release camera mount. I can quickly switch between smartphone and DSLR/Mirrorless cameras. The only issue I've found thus far is the ease of use of the new app. While the “ZY Play” app is an improvement over the older “ZY Cami” app- it's more user friendly, updated more frequently, and has a wealth of value added features- it is difficult to initially navigate and a bit intrusive for those who are privacy conscious. I intend to use the heck out of this gimbal for just about all of my everyday filming needs and I'll save wear and tear on my more expensive Zhiyun- which will increase the value of my new M2S... It will pay for itself over time! ... show more

honestly this thing is terrific for the price point. I had to buy a separate connection cable for it because when the gimbal would rotate it would knock out of the small cable it came with from my camera. I think this gimbal is really ideal for capturing snow sports or in colder environments because the motor gets SUPER hot when operating it for longer than 15 minutes at a time. Even with the instructions the buttons are a bit confusing but the added joystick gives the operator complete control of their shot and has proven very useful filming music videos! ... show more
