The media could not be loaded. PRO: The turning speed is consistent for left, right, up and down. The app is easy to use Set-up is one of the easiest I’ve used Memory switch is incredibly helpful M button snaps camera to front facing Lightweight, I can hold it up the same as if it were just my phone CON: You can’t switch from L to POV or vice-versa after recording has started, it seems you have to restart the device The range in certain motions is limited, but that’s to be expected You have to be thorough when putting up the device, or the secondary arm can slip out. App can’t switch between photos and videos without restarting. When I first opened the box, I was fairly shocked with how much actually came with the device as well as how light it was by itself. I let it charge for a while and set it up. With the instructions on the app, it was really easy to figure it out, and the memory switch on the main arm is probably the most helpful thing about set-up. The Tri-pod stand was surprisingly sturdy when I used it for a test, but I’d like to go through and use it more before I have any kind of affection to it. I took it out for a walk around an Amusement park, where the lightweight aspect really came in handy since I could hold it above my head really easily to get a good shot. I did notice that the motor is consistent in all directions when I tried to move it around by itself, but I did have issues trying to switch from the Locked to POV after I had started recording. I needed to restart the device each time. It might be a firmware that needs updating, but I will have to look more into it. I also noticed that the motor doesn’t really change speed when you go from low to medium to high. Again, maybe a Firmware, or just something I was not understanding. Further testing for a review video was showing that the device had a decent amount of range for what I needed, in MOST of the angles. However, leaning backwards did leave the range pretty low. Otherwise, everything I needed was well within range. The phone app opens quickly and has the full guidebook and manual, as well as an “academy” feature. Which is really helpful to learn what you need about the device. It connects quickly and provides a Photo, Timelapse, or Video option. Unfortunately, I am unable to switch between the three and use them after I start using one. Usually I have to restart the app to switch. All said and done, for the price and versatility and ease-of-use. I’d rate this a 7/10. If Firmware/Software patches come out that fix the issues (Or I discover it’s User Based) I’d bump this to a strong 8, light 9. ... show more

    • Update: returned. Software makes it unusable
Update: sadly, I had to return this gimbal. The seller was not at fault for this. They shipped out super fast. Zhiyun has a very very nice product but their software is lacking big time. A lot of the time after my camera was balanced, and I did follow the videos on Zhiyun’s website, the camera would floo down and hit the gimbal and the body of my camera lens would get scratched.. a lot of times too the gimbal would produce an error and I would have to reset it. Wish they would update their software or firmware. Such a nice product but needs better software. Love this gimbal compared to the DJI Osmo as this is more versatile since it can hold a phone, action camera and a lightweight pro camera lie the Sony a6300 which I have. Construction is superb with extremely sturdy components and excellently finished. Setting the gimbal to balance your device up can be a little frustrating as there are no instructions in the box and you have to look them up. One thing I don't like is their app is not polished 100% like say DJI's. I wasn't sure if I had found the correct app, it's called "Zy Play" on the app store. It shows up with Chinese language and that seemed odd but I installed it anyway. Once downloaded I almost could not find my Gimbal on the app, in this case, the Crane M2 here is the way you can find the M2: 1. Turn on your phone Bluetooth and WiFi. 2. Enter ZY PLAY app, slide left and right to find the gimbal type page. 2. Click the left top icon to enter the app menu, then select your model there to connect. My friend bought a gimbal from DJI and their app seems a little bit more polished but he is limited with only using his phone. One thing I don't like about the gimbal is sometimes it goes crazy and it just seems to stop working and when that happens the arms hit the other parts of the gimbal and the powder coating seems to scratch easily. I wish Zhiyun would include some sort of rubber bumpers instead of having the gimbal touch metal to metal once the gimbal powers off or hits an error. A nice thing about this gimbal is the Oled screen it comes in handy for viewing BT connection, Wi fi, errors and gimbal modes. The tripod legs are an awesome feature if you need to do any vblogging or any video where you have to talk to the camera. The app itself is pretty stable and haven't really played with it too much but it has some cool features I will be playing around with. This is my first gimbal purchase and I must mention this that it is beyond my expectation level. I am very happy with what I bought, it is very smooth, light, easy to use and really very versatile. I have bought this for my Samsung Galaxy smartphone. I just wanted a thing which can take my photography and videography experience to a different level, and it certainly did the same. it is steady to hold and very stable while making videos. It makes every experience easy. You just have to install the ZY play app in your phone from play store and you are all set to use this amazing gimbal via Bluetooth and wifi. The steps to assemble all the parts of Zhiyun Crane M2 Crane Gimbal are given in the booklet that has come along the set, but after installing the app in the mobile phone it becomes much easier. All the instructions and specification of the Crane M2 are well explained in the app and there is a lot more to learn about the gimbal. The battery life of M2 is great. It takes only 2 hours to get fully charged and works for almost 8 -9 hours. I used it for almost 7 to 8 hours for taking videos and photographs and there was still a little battery was left. I purchased it from Pergear and it comes with a very soft and beautiful handy bag. The black color bag is of a strong fabric and hopefully durable. Overall it is a very good and reliable product at this price. I have not written this long review for any of my purchase, I guess am very impressed with my Zhiyun Crane M2 Crane gimbal. It has made my first Gimbal experience a happy One..... ... show more
