They're joy-con. Love 'em or hate 'em, they're exactly as advertised. It could be my imagination, or maybe the fact that I played with my original ones for hundreds of hours before getting a second set, but these seem to be even more well-made and slightly more hefty than the ones that came with my Switch. I don't know if there have been any hardware changes to the Joy-con since I bought my Switch last March, and it very well could just be in my head, but they feel nice and it's great to have an extra pair around when I have friends over to play ARMS. I bought a charging base that charges two joycon and one pro controller, and I rotate out which joy-con are attached to my Switch and which ones are loose so they're being used evenly to hopefully increase their lifespan. It's really nice to be able to keep a pair connected to the Switch and have another pair to use when in docked mode, since some games feel really nice with the joy-con rather than the pro controller, and I can still just pull my Switch out of its dock with the other pair already attached. It's a great way to keep all four charged too, since they charge on the Switch in its dock as well as on the separate base.

This is not so much a product review as a compliment, so here goes... Just wanted to give the Amazon delivery service a “Thank you”. I’ve had my Switch for almost 2 yrs and have logged many happy, sometimes frustrating hours on it. So last week when the Joy-Cons started gradually sticking I knew they needed replacing. The R stick wasn’t actually “physically” sticking to the right, but was sending the message to the game to move right when I wanted to stand my ground. Don’t know if any of you have ever tried fighting Ice Lizalfos on a mountain top while Link keeps trying to creep off the cliff, but I would not recommend it. I’d already searched to replace them, but due to the COVID pandemic Switch Joy-Cons are near impossible to get in regular grey here in Sacramento. EVERY store was wiped out. Even GameStop, Walmart, Best Buy and Fry’s couldn’t provide via store OR online. Amazon said they could deliver, but not until August 1st... it was the best offer I could get. So when that beautiful little brown box showed up yesterday afternoon, July 28th, while I was actually playing Zelda BOTW no less, the feelings of relief that swept over me can only be understated. And just in time too. Yesterday, only an hour or so before delivery, the L stick was starting to stick to the right also. Whew!.... Thanks again, Amazon for that little extra “sumthin’” you always seem to provide. P.S. Oh, and the controllers were delivered, packaged, and function perfectly. The actual Nintendo Joy-Con box was untampered and had safety seals in tact - something I always look for, especially with electronics (and food, of course).

I bought this controller because I would like to replace my original joy cons for display purposes only. I did not intended to use it. Potential buyers be aware! * This is not a new product! * I received a product full of scratches on the front housing shell. * The back of the housing shell have marks that make me to believe the used magic eraser to clean. * The thumb sticks on both joy con were very dirty and sticky! * Be careful with when reading the reviews / looking the review pictures. Not say that some buyers received a new or close to new. * I was not able to see / read the description where it says that this is a used product. * I do not recommend this product.

They were great. What else am I gonna say? They're Nintendo brand joycons. They do what joycons are gonna do. They did end up drifting a bit, but not that much. And they work better than all the off brand joycons (and I'm nervous to put those with my beloved Switch anyway) so, why not? Sleek color. I have one blue/red pair and then this pair.

So the joycons works fine, they are original nintendo joycons, but I expected some better quality for been a nintendo product. I was about to buy some generic ones for $5 difference, but I stick to originals for quality. This is what happened. I was playing Cup head with a friend, I have 4 joycons so we were playing with the grip. I remap the shooting button to "R", we were playing and then I felt a plock on the button, and then it was working fine, but when shacking the controller, something was lose inside, I live outside the US (my sister took the controllers to me on a visit) so sending the controllers back to get them replaced was going to be more expensive than get new ones, but still getting new ones would be also expensive because have a couple of joycons that I got without use, so I decide to open them up and check what was going on. What I found was a bolt got lose inside, is was one of the bolt just below the "R" button, I said well no problem just putting it back and that should be all. Well nope, the place where you screw the bolt in is plastic and was striped, it seems that the bolt was over screwed, so the part was not grabbing the bolt, and that was with the other bolt as well. So even tho I screw them it wont take none of the 2 bolts and they were going to be wobbling around the controller sooner or later. THANKFULLY I got a 2 joysticks replacements (In case that the joysticks start drifting, have read that is a common issue with joycons but I haven't experienced anything like it) which come with the tools to open them up and extra bolts if some of them gets lost, and also those bolts were A MICRO MINIMETER bigger than original bolts, so the plastic took the bolts like a charm. Now the controller is in perfect condition, but still was not waiting this type of issue from an original controller from NINTENDO. I am planning on buying a generic controller (with d-pad) to try and compare quality. Even tho this was bad luck to me but I dont think all the controllers are having this issue, so still 3 stars.

I really do like the thought behind this controller and the way it makes two separate controllers or one normal sized one, or slides on the sides of the Switch. They do a lot for how small they are, and are spendy, but they are good little controllers. I'm impressed with them. The only down side is that they don't come with the device to slide them into in order to make the a normal controller, you have to buy that separately. When you buy the Switch, it does come with one, but if you want one for your extra controller, you gotta spend more,
