I finally got around to engraving something for someone and as I was getting everything together to start my project. II was watching videos on how to engrave keychains and as I'm watching the instructor in the video goes on to show the viewer what the engraving tool looks like for the Cricut Maker 3. I look at my engraving tool that I purchased from you, and I realize it doesn't look anything like the one that she is showing. After seeing this, I went online to pull up all the different engraving tools that is available for the Cricut Maker 3. To my surprise, there is only 1! It is not the one I have that's for sure! Although here it clearly states that this is compatible with the Cricut Maker 3. I went on to read someplace else that it is NOT COMPATIBLE with the Cricut Maker 3. Now, I'm out $17.99 plus tax for a engraving tool that is completely useless to me! Thanks, ya'll!!

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this engraving tip and etching tool set performs—especially considering the price point. I’ve used the Cricut Engraving Tip in the past, and while it works well, it’s definitely more expensive and doesn’t come with extras. This set not only includes the engraving tool, but also six assorted metal stamping blanks, which is a great bonus for getting started right away. Ease of use is excellent. It fits perfectly into my die-cutting machine (compatible with Cricut Maker), and the tool installs just like the Cricut-branded version. It engraved smoothly on aluminum and stainless steel blanks with clean, precise lines. No skipping or dragging, and no special adjustments needed. In terms of quality, the tool feels solid and well-machined. The tip is sharp and durable, and after several uses, it still performs like new. The included blanks are also decent quality—great for practice or small projects. Functionality-wise, it does exactly what I need it to do: clean engraving on a variety of surfaces. It’s ideal for custom tags, jewelry, and small signage. While the Cricut version might have a slight edge in polish or branding, this tool delivers the same results at a fraction of the cost. If you're looking for a budget-friendly, high-performing engraving tool, this is a fantastic option. Great for beginners or anyone looking to expand their crafting capabilities without overspending.

I have an Explore Air 2... to get this to work the way I needed it to, I put some strong transfer tape (sticky side up) on a mat and attached the object to be engraved on top of that. It held in place beautifully! I did make a mistake when I pressed the button to make it by not aligning before having the machine start. Make sure to realign before you press the "go" button. For the metal tags I used the around 300 pressure but I think those tags may need something underneath to raise it up a bit more. However, on the acrylic circles it did wonderful!! I need to practice on my alignment a little but it did great!!! Only had to use one pass. I'm very happy with this.

This engraving tip works great with my Cricut explorer. I just use the basic cut operation in design space and I have not had an issue.

I was skeptical trying this out, but no regrets. I used this with my explorer 2, on cut mode and it worked perfectly for engraving an acrylic key chain. Perfect price, perfect item.

the product is made well, however no matter what settings i change on my cricut to use this item, it will not even scratch the surface of the dog tags, even with it being set to apply more pressure, I would return this as i still have time to do so, but i no longer have the box it came in, so I guess I am just out the $16 for this engraving tool.
