Attractive wood block display that comes with 5 knives, scissors and sharpening tool. The knivies vary in size and appear to be well made and have sturdy grips. great set! I would have preferred a different type of sharpener, but I am just glad it came with one. I didn't expect to have one at all, so it was a nice surprise. These knives came VERY sharp. So please be careful. The handles feel very nice, but are also very standard in size. These are also very sturdy. Like, I can cut very hard things (for example, I was cutting through actual bone on a raw chicken), and it does it very easily. At the same time, it also does thin banana slices very well!     • Inexpensive set, with all necessary sharp blades and block
For $38, these are not the best quality knives in the world, but they are sharp enough to get done with the job, and they are attractive in their design. I have both expensive and inexpensive knives, and do a lot of cooking. Some of my old cheaper blades needed replacement and this set fits the bill. I am using my old knife block, because it has more space, but the knife block that came with this is really nicely done. It hold the knives more vertically than my old one, thus keeping the knives more secure. It was a difficult decision to not use it, but I would have had to give up some knife space. All in all this is a pretty nice set. I would only gift this to someone who is not handy with knives, or who was just setting out in life and needs a set in the kitchen. Although, I must say that few people actually know the difference in knife quality and thus this would make a one gift. ... show more

We must have had some type of ghost in our home because all of our kitchen knives keep disappearing so I ordered these in hopes of replacing a few (specifically, my pairing knives). The set comes with 5 knives, a sharpener, and a pair of kitchen scissors. I tested them out over the last couple of weeks and they do what they’re supposed to. It’s not anything that I’m jumping for joy about, but I’m not really disappointed either. I wasn't that impressed with these. Its an ok starter knife set, but just putting them through the dishwasher, they developed surface rust - which could be a sign of the quality of metal used. So before I even got to cut with them, I had to scrub the surface rust off each one (literally each one had rust). Then, cutting wasn't really impressive as they weren't that sharp.
