Let me say that this is not a beginner's guitar. You are going to need to know how to change strings from the garbage steel strings that come on the instrument to tie end nylon strings. This is a classical guitar, it does not have a truss rod and cannot withstand the tension required by steel strings. Before you put on the new nylon strings (sold separately) however, you are going to need to sand the bridge bone down by several millimeters otherwise the action on the strings will be too high. You might need to file the frets as they might be sharp along the edges of the neck. There will be many cosmetic flaws and there isn't much you can do about a bad paint job. Once all the sanding and filing and re-stringing is done you are gonna love this little bargain. I keep this one in open D tuning and will be installing a piezo pickup. All of the bonus included stuff (strings, "case", pitch pipe) can go sraight in the garbage. Because that is what they are, garbage. I will keep the comically oversized pick as it is ridiculous. So, if you want a fun project and have the tools and the skillset to do what needs to be done, get this thing. I'm glad I did. One last thing, the lacquer used on this smells horrid, but it will off gas after a few days. ... show more

I use this guitar in my dorm and it's very good and affordable for a quick play here and there. Of course, it is very small and flimsy, the wood isn't the best quality, but for the price, it's the best you can find. The strings don't tune very well, 3 of them snapped on me, so I suggest getting another pair of stri gs separately, of at least good quality (Slinky work perfectly for mine). ... show more

The guitar came with a crack in fret board 10, and a few days after playing, it's G string snapped. I'm not sure if it's because of the type of strings, but the quality isn't the best as far as durability and considering the cracked fret. The sound- however, is really good!! Nice and smooth when playing. Very lightweight, but another downside is that the strap on the carying case broke after around a week :( Overall it's a solid beginners guitar, I say go for it!!
