  • Works great. i have a Vstar 1100 and the engine ...
Works great. i have a Vstar 1100 and the engine hangs lower than the frame. Took this baby right out of the box, put a piece of 1x on each side under the frame and up she went. Nice and sturdy. great item that works and doesnt take up a ton of garage space. You can also use it for box squats if you are into weight lifting so that makes it a dual purpose item. Now keep in mind, it is not a professional lift that raises your bike like 4 feet in the air like the dealership has but what do you want for a few buck? ... show more

  • Solidly made, works great
I bought this for working on my Suzuki DR650 and it works great for that. I keep finding other used for it as well. I've used it as a adjustable stool when working on vehicles. And recently realized that it's awesome for replacing a fuel pump on trucks. Had a pump go out on a late 90's Chev truck with better than 3/4 tank of fuel. Set this lift under it, removed the tank straps, filler tube. And easily lowered down the tank. Appears solid and as long as you put a little grease on the threads as instructed, it's smooth as silk. Though I still use my drill or DeWalt Impact just to save time. ... show more

  • It does what it's supposed to
I ordered this lift mainly for use during cleaning and maintenence of my 2007 Harley FXDB Street Bob. If you're not familiar with these types of lifts, they're most commonly used by mechanics to get the rear wheel in the air when a bike is already up on a large table style lift. They work on the floor too, but table lifts usually stabilize the front wheel in a clamp making the whole operation more stable. I bought it because I wanted something small and portable that wouldn't take up too much room in the garage but that could still get the front or rear tires off the ground if needed. I would be hesitant to use this jack to lift the entire bike into the air unless I had a set of hands on the bike at all times. Alternatively you may be able to fashion some tie down points to strap the bike down but I'd still question the stability. The jack works well with the included wrench but a 7/8 socket with a ratchet makes it quicker and easier. I'd like if there was a way to attach the included wrench to the jack so it could double as a carry handle, but that's a minor complaint. The top of the jack has a sheet of rubber padding to protect the bike frame. I can see already that it will wear off quickly as there are already a few gouges from two uses. If you are looking for a stable motorcycle jack to get your bike in the air while you perform major upgrades or repairs, this isn't it. If you are looking for a jack to get your bike up in the air for long term storage and portability, this isn't it. If you're looking for a small, affordable, jack stand for minor maintenance and detailing your bike, you found it. ... show more

  • Not just for motorcycles
I used this motorcycle lift to make an adjustable height work bench that I would mostly use for woodworking. I was hesitant because of the reviews saying it was unstable. It is absolutely usable to work on when it is lifted. I wouldn't do much sanding or planing when it's lifted but it is more than stable enough as an outfeed table when it's lifted. If you're considering doing this I would say give it a go. Make sure to tighten the allen head screws on the side of the lift and be careful using a drill to lift. The screw wants to come off. You'll see what I mean. Not a big deal. Works great. ... show more

  • It's a BEAST!
This thing is really built. I mean heavy duty. Just follow the directions, grease the ball bearing like you would any oyher new bearing, forcing the grease in all around. Grease the screw liberally from one end to the other, as you don't want dry spots. Lifted my 1100 V-Star with no problem at about 750#. I like it better than a hydraulic lift as it is easy to move around and stores out of the way. try it, you'll like it. (And if you want, lay on your back and bench press it to build Muscle) LOL Just Kidding! ... show more

  • Lasted 6 years in a full time shop.
Used this jack in a motorcycle shop. Lasted 6 years with 2 guys using it. Had to shim the stand when we received it to get some of the wobble out of it but it worked great.

  • Very stable. Worth every penny.
So, someone in Ney York City got a free jack because of an addressing error. Not mine. ;-) Wrote up a complaint and received a response within a few hours and a jack was on the way the next day. Seller was top notch and handled the problem as quickly as possible. The jack is not ready for use when received. Take it apart and lube everything with good lithium grease. Tighten all the bolts and it's ready to go. About a 15 minute job. A ratchet and socket will be needed for heavy loads. The supplied wrench does not have enough leverage for a heavy load. One could do it but it wouldn't be fun. Lifted my 932lb + Road Glide with no problem. Had the front wheel off the ground and the back was barely touching. I don't think that the jack is intended to lift front and rear wheels at the same time, but with better positioning and no saddlebags it would not cause a stability issue. I may order another to lift both wheels. I have not had any success with the cheaper motorcycle jacks. I've ordered and returned three different ones. Two of these would allow a three hole oil change with no issues. ... show more
