I had been buying better quality and more expensive reels but my son with Autism seems to break the buttons so I decided this was a better option. So far my only suggestion would be to put better line on right away. The first time he used it the line broke 3 times. Once we brought it in for new line, he's been back in business. ... show more

We live on the water and leave stuff sitting on the dock... Rain, salt water splash wrecks havoc unless you buy really expensive stuff, so we got some of these so when they broke, we didn't feel bad about throwing them away... but it's been 4 months... and none have broke! They still work great! And lasted longer in harsh conditions than many others I've used. ... show more

This reel is dependable, easy for anyone to use and hard to imagine that it’s so inexpensive. I would recommend this reel for most fishing that you will encounter for the majority of river, lake and pond fishing a person will encounter. They have been my go to reel for most of my fishing.
