I desperately needed to replace my old window unit which has been giving me error messages, and shutting off randomly. We live in Florida and this time of year it is HOT! Unbearably hot. We put this unit to the test and I have to say, I'm impressed. The room I am using it in is an ice box! I got it down to 61 degrees, just to see if it could do what it claims, and my hygrometer can attest. Did I mention this is Florida and it gets into the 90's easily? The unit was easy to install. It's keeping the room arctic, which is a vast improvement over our previous unit, and it runs fairly quietly. If you plan to put this in a bedroom and have issues with light while you're trying to sleep, be aware that the display stays lit up with blue light. It has several different modes, and comes with a remote, which you will need a small screw driver to open to replace the battery. So far, I have zero complaints with this unit. ... show more

This window air conditioner is the perfect size for small or medium size rooms. We have central air in our house but one of the upstairs bedrooms never cools down enough. This installed in the window easily and can get the room ice cold. I set the temperature to 66 and eco-mode and it keeps it nice and comfortable with it barely running. It ends up being very energy efficient. Now with that said the listing shows this rated at 115 volts and 115 watts. At 8000 btu I can't imagine that this uses only 115 watts. More likely it uses 600-700 watts. I took one star off my rating for that discrepancy. ... show more
