Younzii X98 White Mechanical Keyboard This is mechanical Keyboard. It is a 96 Key board that functions via USB Bluetooth or Wirelessly (2.4 GHz) . It has a self contained battery that can be recharged through a USB-C connector. It is almost but not quite a full sized keyboard. The wireless dongle is on the back UNDER the metal faceplate which is fixed with magnets. It took me a while to figure out that the plate was removable since I didn't want to pry it and risk damaging something. The plate can be removed by prying it out with a finger nail to expose the wireless connector. If you plan on using the Bluetooth option its not an issue. When using Blue tooth, the keyboard can connect up to three devices, switching is performed using teh FN+ either 1/2/3. The keyboard feels quite solid and heavy,. It won't move once you place it on your desk, It has legs on the back to improve the angle during use. As a mechanical keyboard it has a different feel to it. The feel is actually quite smooth but sound wise It is quite a bit more "Thonky". It does get a little more quite after use but it still makes quite a bit more noise than a membrane keyboard. I use my numeric keyboard a lot and found the 0 -key a little annoying since it is half size in width rather than the wider outline to permit use of the thumb when touch typing. Also, this board stands a little taller Than other boards you may have used but you get used to it after a while. I alos like the volume knob - great when adjusting /muting sound effects of that killer games background music late at night The instructions are good. In fact it comes with a regular manual and a much larger foldable carboard "Quick start " form which I preferred since it was easier to read than the manual Accessories: The board comes with a surprising number of support items. 4 new mechanical keys, key covers a key puller and a USB-A to C charging cable. \ Other features: This is a programable keyboard if you really want to download teh software to customize it. I didn't because the included settings met my needs. You can change background colors, key colors and blink/flash rates if you wish. If you need more info there are a decent number of videos on teh web demonstrating this keyboard adn how to configure. The companies web site is also useful Would I buy again- Yes ! This is a very solid feeling board that appears to be well constructed.

Let's be real, you really mostly care about how this keyboard looks and how it sounds, right? Most every budget board these days is tri-mode, hot swap, yada yada yada. But if you care about any of the other details besides whether or not this thing thocks, some things that stand out about this board as it comes stock: 1. The switches are pretty good. I expected them to be scratchy, pingy trash and instead they're actually quite decent linears. I think in a less foam-filled board, you'd probably hear some of the crap sounds coming through, but since absolutely zero people are going to open up this plastic case to remove foam, they're going to sound good enough for most people, until they start down the rabbit hole of looking for the thockiest or creamiest switch they can find. With deeper sounding switches, this board will be able to achieve that thocky sound that a lot of people love so much. 2. The knob is clutch. It has a nice tactile feel when turning it, and a satisfying thunky click when you press it down to mute your computer. I know some people are vehemently anti-knob, but I love them because they give me the quickest access to change my volume, despite being pretty adept at quickly executing they key presses needed to change my volume on knob-less boards. Having some kind of tactile and auditory feedback when turning the knob makes it especially nice to use. 3. The look is perfect for anyone that loves RGB and a clean aesthetic. I don't typically prefer these types of jelly keycaps, but because of the construction of the board, they sound really nice and I think the smooth, slippery feel is growing on me (but I don't have sweaty hands or fingers, so ymmv). I would still have preferred tactile switches to come pre-installed, but I understand that they don't typically produce the kind of thocky, creamy sounds that most people buying a budget board like this want, so it makes sense why they wouldn't offer them, just from a marketability perspective. For anyone wondering where the USB dongle went (because it's not on the back of the board like it typically is on budget plastic boards), it's actually on the bottom of the keyboard underneath a silver badge. I pressed all over the whole badge trying to get a corner of it to pop up to access the dongle, and it wasn't until I pressed on the bottom edge that I was able to get it to pop up. There's a bit of recessed area there that allows any pressure applied to that area to cause the opposite side to open up. The sound of this board is where it really shines. It really sounds like typing on crispy, thocky ice cubes. I've included a video so that you can not only see the RGB in action, but hear what the board sounds like totally stock. I recorded both with my phone mic, which makes the board sound a bit thinner and clackier than it does in real life, and an external mic, which makes the board sound a bit louder than it does in real life, but captures the overall sound profile much better.

I love this thing. The YUNZII X98 surprised me immediately. It feels dense, solid, and much more premium than I expected. There are a lot of “me too” mechanical keyboards out there now, but this one actually feels like someone put thought into it. The gasket mount, pre-lubed switches, keycap feel, knob, wireless options, and QMK/VIA support all add up to a really nice package. The Crystal switches feel smooth and pleasant to type on, and the keyboard has a satisfying sound without being obnoxiously loud. The keycaps are also a big part of the charm. They have that jelly / gel / candy-coated look and feel, and the Milky White version looks fantastic with the RGB. They are side-printed rather than full shine-through, but the lighting still bleeds through enough that I can read them fine in a dark room. The layout is also very usable. You get a compact footprint without giving up too much functionality, and the knob is a nice practical touch. USB-C, Bluetooth, and 2.4GHz all make it flexible depending on how you want to use it. My only real nitpick is that I wish more companies would make larger enthusiast boards with this same personality and build quality 108-key, 128-key, detachable numpad, macro pad, something wild. But for what this is, YUNZII did a great job. This is easily one of the better keyboards I’ve tried in this price/style category. It feels good, looks good, types well, and has enough programmability to make it more than just another RGB keyboard. Highly recommended.

This isn't my first Yunzii keyboard, and the X98 keeps that streak going. Right out of the box, the typing feel is excellent! These switches come pre-lubed and you can genuinely feel it in how smooth each keystroke is, with none of that scratchy stock sound or feel you get with boards that skip this step. Connection was painless too, and with BT5.0, USB-C, and 2.4GHz all available, I had options depending on what device I wanted to pair it with that day. Since I'm already comfortable with QMK/VIA, dropping into the software to remap keys and set things up exactly how I like to type was quick and didn't involve fighting with drivers or sketchy third-party apps. The knob is a nice bonus too! It is easy to reach for quick volume adjustments without breaking my typing flow. The jelly keycaps give this one a different look from a lot of my other boards, translucent enough to be interesting without being distracting, and they don't feel cheap at all. If you're already into the keyboard hobby or just want something that works great and looks good without much fuss, this one's an easy recommend.

This is a really good keyboard all around. Installation is easy no matter which of the three connections you choose or all three in fact. I connected all three to a Win11 pro PC and all three were recognized immediately, drivers were installed and the keyboard was ready to go instantly. The keys are comfortable to type on even for a hunt and peck typist. The fact that the software is QMK/VIA and doesn't reside on the computer fulltime is a bonus as well. I can still hop online and make any changes to the easy to use software anytime I need to. I keep the USB dongle connected as my primary connection and leave the USB-C cable connected to the computer but disconnected from the keyboard for easy charging. Not that I've had a need with this battery. The thing lasts forever. The keys themselves and the housing have a unique look that is very cool. The volume knob and numpad are a must for any keyboard I use now so this X98 is perfect. The side printed keys are kind of a turn off but I'm getting used to them, slowly. I've been gaming and typing on this keyboard for three days now and I can't find anything negative about it other than the side printed keys. It's quiet, super accurate and easy to use. I really like it.
