Using different sizes with my m12 drill and m18 hammer drill, and I got the same results. I discovered that after the expansion one should wiggle the bit around once it's bottomed out. Or else get ready for a fight. This kit makes the tightest swage possible and if your coppers roughed warped it's not going in without a lil wiggle wiggle ... show more

Great idea but my set were all undersize for standard pipe. I tried all the sizes and like the design for occasional use but my set was undersize and took at least three runs, letting the pipe cool down in between running the tool to get the pipe up to (almost) proper size. Even then I had to wallow the tool around while running it to be able to insert the pipe and it would still be very tight. I think it would work great if properly sized. I'm trying another brand to see if they are better. Could be a real asset to have in the tool box in a pinch. ... show more

the bits are a tiny bit undersized. you kinda have to wobble them inside the pipe to swag it large enough for the 2nd pipe to be inserted. I have the name brand set for $150 and you don't have that problem with the name brand. if you were going to use it every day probably should get the name brand. but If snagging is only a once a month thing then this will work fine ... show more

    • Quick and effective but with a catch
First and foremost, point the end of the copper down when using this tool. It will cause shavings of copper that will destroy compressors and clog metering devices. Now with that said, cheap and quick way to swedge copper. Beyond the shavings it works just about perfect. The copper will get VERY hot from the friction though so always were gloves to prevent accidental burns. ... show more
