This little thing is really neat. It was well made, easy to use and had great features. I ended up returning it, because it did not meet our needs. My grandson has severe dyslexia and dygraphia, so we were looking for a device that would read in real time as you drag it across the words. This device does NOT do that.     • translate right away with accuracy
It scans the line of English and translates right away. It has a lot of functions but I only use translate. As of my opinion, I think the reason for the high price just because of these multiple functions which actually you may not use at all except translate. So I don't recommend you to get this one, just get the original one if you only want the translate function. The translation results are pretty much close to google translate. ... show more

Well made. Translations, however, are a bit inconsistent in terms of intelligibility. I think that's expected, and I accept it. Amazing engineering in such a small device.

This is great for me because I speak some Chinese and can write/read some, but helping my kids becomes really tough when I cannot simply highlight the text from some of our online Chinese programs, so now I can use this to highlight and obtain a definition and reads it for us. I love that we can also save to our favorites, though I'm unsure if it'll become harder to view if we have too many. Very sleek design and easy to operate for my kids ages 9 and 7. We love it so far! the price is what got me. $200 for a translating pen? but why not buy it and test it out? to my surprise, it works well and is way more convenient than getting out your phone and opening translator app. it translates in a blink of an eye, and it also is very helpful in learning english or chinese. recommend! just go for it and buy it if you're unsure whether to buy or not! ... show more

I just bought this new device, it arrived today. But it could not be turned on. There is no where on the user manual tell you if the new one need to be charged before the first time use or not. I tried to charge for about one hour, the device becomes very hot. I still can not turn it on. So, this is my newly purchased device that never work from the beginning. Bad experience. The media could not be loaded. I purchased this pen after seeing some info online about it. It has exceeded my expectations, in that it’s not clumsy or annoying at all. Instead of using my phone to attempt to identify a character, the pen is much faster and more accurate.
