- IMPORTANT : YoToolGDS highly recommend that you replace springs in pairs. Typically both springs are of the same age and wear, since one has broken, typically the second spring will reach the end of its cycle life and also break soon. The newer spring will have more pull than an older spring and this will cause the door to open and close with an unequal amount of pull on both sides and that can cause damage to the door, the garage door opener and is unsafe.As the springs fatigue, they loosen and do not provide as much lift as the new spring. If you only replace one of two springs, the door may open unevenly and cause problems such as binding or rollers coming out of the tracks.
