If you have a Soundbok or other loud portable outdoor speaker, this product from Yorkville adds those crucial low frequencies that take "sad, tinny, and lame" of what you are hearing to "awesome, I want to dance." You won't believe the difference (as you're not hearing those frequencies now). The EXM-Mobile-Sub is 30 lbs and almost exactly the same size as a Soundbok 3, and they match the Soundbok's volume output (approx 122dB -- very very loud). Better yet, they have a direct AC connection so you can charge them while they play. And despite their conservative frequency response rating, they sound deep. Wow. I was somewhat skeptical since this can run off an internal battery. Was I wrong. I love the light weight and smallish form factor. This is perfect for small to medium size gigs. Will probably end up buying a second one after I get some additional gig money in my pocket.

This low profile sub is exactly what I was looking for. The features are incredible. The low bass is impressive. The fact it’s battery powered means I can perform on the beach for hours. I now have a completely battery powered system that sounds like a major nightclub. I may even purchase another one. Let’s see how it goes. ... show more

    • Too little base for too much $$
Quality of box and speaker looks and feels great. But it ends once you turn it on and feel or should I say just “hear” the base. I wasn’t expecting the world since it is battery powered. But at that price point it should sound stronger. My SOUNDBOKS has more base. I do not recommend. Sorry

I host open mic nights and busy with my band. I bought two of these and they exceeded my expectations. Our 5 string bassist doesn't have to bring an Amp with these subs. They have amazing bottom. Yes they are expensive. However, nobody else that I am aware of builds a light weight, battery-Powered subwoofer. I built some dual 8"s DYI at 600 watts, 12ah/12volt. They didn't even compare to these Yorkville subs. The ones I built cost around $500. each to build. The York ones blew mine away and I gave my DYI ones away to a local non-profit. People complain about price/bang for the buck. What are the comparing to? I don't want to haul a generator or heavy power station. These guys weight nothing at 30 pounds. Get two for usages like mine and be amazed! ... show more
