Recently, I picked up the Yoobure Windproof Travel Umbrella for my wife's trip to New Orleans, and it couldn't have arrived at a better time, with the rain pouring down in the city. While these features used to come at a premium, it's impressive to find them in such an affordable product. They proved to be incredibly helpful for my wife as she navigated getting in and out of cars amidst heavy rain showers in New Orleans. This umbrella opens and closes (partially) with a push of a button. When closed one button press will completely open the umbrella. Its large enough to keep you out of the elements. When the button is pressed again the canopy will close but you must manually push it back down into the handle which compresses a spring to allow the one button press to re-open the umbrella when needed. The umbrella appears to be sturdy and I have used it in a gusty wind without incident. There is no flap to allow air to pass thru the inside of the canopy should the winds be very high. Its a great size for traveling or kept in the car just in case.

YOOBURE Windproof Travel Umbrella seems to be a superior umbrella. Although I am unable to yet certify its longevity, my initial evaluation is that this umbrella is well-designed, with a quality canopy, strong aluminum shaft and 8 reinforced fiberglass ribs. In yesterday's rain, it did a fine job of keeping me dry. But, even more impressive was its ability to not lose shape or flip inside-out during 15-20mph wind gusts. The umbrella felt as if it could handle 30mph! That's quite impressive; most of my umbrellas have had trouble with 10mph. A simple press of the button on the small, comfortable handle made the umbrella open to its full length and width. Even with the wind gusts, my hand felt comfortable, not strained. Another press of the button collapses the canopy; the top of the umbrella still needs to be pushed down to collapse the aluminum shaft [can you dig it?]. Some effort was needed to push the shaft down, though; this can be done either by pushing down on the top of the outer shaft on the canopy, or by grabbing down the inner ring on the shaft. So, one-handed, full closure is possible only if you are relatively strong. The umbrella is easy to then fold up and secure with the velcro strip. It's quite compact [11.6"] and weighs only 0.75lbs. The arched canopy is 42.5"; it's quite sufficient to cover 1 person, but not 2 people. The canopy is claimed to provide 50+ sun protection and block 99% of UV rays, which helps to stay cool. The fabric is claimed to be waterproof and quick drying. And, a lifetime warranty is provided, which speaks to the quality of the product and its seller. At a current selling price of $9.99, that's cheaper than many, lesser quality umbrellas that you get rid of after being destroyed in light winds!

For a travel umbrella you could definitely do worse. Packs up nice and small, opens quick and its mostly easy to return to packed when you're done. Somewhat difficult to dry off, it hasn't wanted to return to closed easy without a lot of jostling. Color is nice, and construction seems like it's solid enough to hold up to many uses. For the money, it's great. Get a few and give them to kids, these are inexpensive enough that you don't have to worry and it won't hurt to throw away if it's broken.

This is a regular collapsible umbrella, 11.5 inches long with a fair amount of heft, not a tiny, fragile, just-in-case fold up. I wouldn’t classify it specifically as a travel umbrella since that conjures the primarily fragile variety collapsible umbrella. This one has an average span and an easy push button open and close mechanism. The material is average weight and has so far kept the water on the outside. A small gripe I have is that you can’t reopen the umbrella unless it is fully collapsed with the handle collapsed. If you partially collapsed it then changed your mind and wanted to reopen quickly, you have to push it closed then you can use the push button again. The outside color is blue while the inside is black.
