    • Does the job, but much harder to use than it should be
I got this as a really cheap studio camera to record private lesson videos to share with students. It's great that it has a remote to stop and start as-needed. The box includes a surprising amount of extra connectors and helpful accessories, but bafflingly does not include ANY instructions for the camera. I had to stumble my way through finding all the settings. The phone app (which you only know about because of the giant QR code on the box) tells you to turn on the camera's WiFi to connect. However, there is zero indication of how to do so either on the camera or in the app. Because of this, I just stumbled through setup, using a mirror to make sure the camera was pointed at the right angle on my shelf in the corner. One day, I accidentally hit a button and the WiFi icon showed up on the screen! You need to push the "up" button on the side to do so. Suddenly I was able to use the app instead of a mirror, but it takes SO LONG for the app to actually connect, and it automatically disconnects when your phone screen turns off. Also, if you turn on the WiFi, the remote stops working. You need to turn the WiFi back off (pressing the down button), and even then it still doesn't work immediately. You have to randomly turn it off and on until the remote suddenly registers again. Really frustrating. In all, this camera does its job for the cheapo price I paid. However, some things are just so much harder than they ever needed to be. A three-page instruction booklet would have gone a REALLY long way! PS - There are two batteries included. The first one was DOA and didn't even charge at all. The second one works, but I have no idea how long since I keep it plugged in on the shelf 98% of the time. ... show more
