It’s not a traditional style rug and might not be the most practical for a high traffic super busy area, but if you’re looking for the “softest, squishiest, most comfy sink your toes into and roll around all cozy on the floor with your kids, (both fur & human) kind of rug, then look no further! This rug came to me in the package pictured. I was like there is no way that is a rug. It was a rug and it is a nice one. It’s slippery though I would watch out if it’s for an elderly person. Mainly because my sister had one like it in her bathroom and all it takes is a little water to make you zoom your way to meeting god. So just know it’s slippery. But as you can see it’s nice it’s soft. It has a nice cool feeling on your feet and the reviews about dogs liking it is no joke. I just put that down and they wouldn’t get off of it for me to get it straight. I got a 4x6 to replace a rug I got that was too big for the area infront of my couch. This one is still a little big but I like it a lot so I will make it work for that area. The color is perfect and I think it will hold up nice. It does have a padded backing with some anti-slip dots.. it’s not the back slipping that makes it slippery it’s the material it’s made out of. It’s a thoughtful rug though and worth what I paid for it. I say thoughtful because the edges are nice the rug feels good and it’s worth what you pay for it. The padding too it’s a nice padding.. when I opened the package I was just kind of in awe so it looked like a sausage ready to burst because it was expanding pretty quickly but it pulled out nice then was like one of those floaty devices you put around your neck on a plane.. just like zzziiippp and it was like rug shaped in my arms🙂 so worth it!! ... show more

    • The Chemical Smell Knocks Me Dead Every Time I Walk in My Front Door

The carpet is great, and I'm not new to purchasing area rugs. In the past, I did buy a shag rug of great, heavy quality that also had a repulsive chemical smell. Maybe it's a shag thing, as this area rug is also shaggy. Soft yes. Pretty yes. But beware that this rug is loaded with some kind of chemical odor that will knock you dead when you've been out of your home and walk back in the door. "Give it time to air out", some say. Air out or for our senses to simply get used to the smell so it doesn't register anymore... Just sayin' I can't help but wonder if I'd be able to take this to a laundry mat where they have the larger washing machines and throw it in there to clean the chemical smell out of it. Then Perhaps let it air dry at home. Certain chemicals are known to likely cause cancer. I don't know about you, but I'm not a putting-my-head-in-the-sand kinda girl. Fair warning. UPDATE: My 8 x 10 rug was able to fit into my washing machine (barely), and now the chemical smell is completely gone. I hung it over some things so it could air dry. It's a rug, yes. But the liner under the shaggy part is thin and more like material and not stiff like what you would expect from a rug. Probably why it's affordable. Anyway, that's why I was able to put it in the washing machine. I'm now happy with my purchase. ... show more
