I used the reel , caught a few fish. I have rather mad skills when it comes to using a baitcaster and make it look easy even on lower quality reels. This reel has some issues with the drag, lots of play in the handle, the spool tension knob will not stay where you put it. Dont get me wrong it will cast a country mile so long as you use your thumb to control the spool. Expect to backlash alot. For 20 bucks it will catch fish. ... show more

This fishing real feels solid and strong enough to catch some pretty big fish. I'm having a heck of a time stringing it not by the fault of the reel user error. I've never strung up one of these before anybody got any suggestions I've done a YouTube thing but every time I cast it the line just tangles into a big mess. It's me. It's my fault. I will update my review when I get to try it out. My first impression is that it looks good even though I ordered the Black and Green and received a Black and Red which is why I give 4 stars instead of 5. UPDATE: First time I have taken it out and it fails after a half hour, the spool release button would not release. So when I got home I took it apart and discovered a lot more plastic inside than what their picture shows. I was unable to fully correct the problem but it will at least cast now, you have to manually push the spool release button back up to reel in the line as it won't do it on its own when you crank the handle. I was warned not to buy a cheap reel, but I took the chance anyway. Won't happen again, so after full evaluation I recommend paying more so that you don't wind up with junk. I will buy a different reel but not this cheap. ... show more
