I also like that you have the ability to lock it up, if you buy a lock separately. This is a well engineered and exceptionally sturdy product in the class of 'plastic boxes'. Assembly was a breeze and the design of corners and bottom assembly seems to be snug enough to keep out the rain. I also purchased a cover because of the many comments on other products that leak; this box was bone dry after several days of rain and thunderstorms! It may be OK without the cover, but I did not want to risk it. One tip - the bottom snap into the lugs on the sides is very snug. I found the best approach is to turn the box upside down and use a mallet on the bottom (rather than transmitting the pounding from the top edge of the box). This approach produced a very good seating and clear snap on assembly. The other feature I like is the 'sprung' design of the hinges which opens the box easily and limits range of motion to keep stress off the mounting screws ---- very clever. Love it all ---- so far.

I chose this box because I like the external look, BUT also the double walled interior construction---it looks much better than the boxes that seem to have an unfinished look on the inside, and surly the double walled construction makes it much more sturdy....(this box is very sturdy).....As to assembly, I put it together myself--I'm a woman, 5'2" --it was super easy and fast to do. The box exceeded my expectations. I was going to put it on the side yard, but I like it so much it is going on the main patio! Also, their customer service was great too, I initially ordered a different color and it had indicated it was shipped, they worked with me to get the color I wanted---very nice people, and product came quickly.

Pros: - sturdy in comparison to other brands - quick assembly - nice looking - big storage divider Cons: - latch on cover does not line up with body unless you direct it - assembly of sides to bottom needed warming with a heat gun to get them to snap in (summer temps may alleviate this) - one insert for screw was not secured. We glued all 6 of them which was not a big deal.

This review is for the item listed as, "YITAHOME 90 Gallon Large Deck Box, Double-Wall Resin Outdoor Storage Boxes, Deck Storage for Patio Furniture, Cushions, Pool Float, Garden Tools, Lockable & Waterproof (White)." I ordered a white one and got an ugly gray one. I had assigned the task of unpacking and assembling it to two other people and did not know it was the wrong color until they came to me with assembly issues. The struts screw onto the lid with 4 screws in the backplate but two of the screw holes are directly behind the strut and cannot be accessed. And the hinges are made of PLASTIC! The instructions are mostly pictures and are fantastic and easy to follow but they assigned numbers to everything but did not put numbers on anything so you are constantly flipping to the front of the manual to figure out what they are referring to. Now I have to decide between spending the time and money to paint this or taking it apart and hauling it to UPS for a return. This took 10 minutes to unpack, another 10 to read the manual and figure out the parts, and another 20 to put it together. It came with a nice little screwdriver but we used the drill motor. There is one nut that needs a wrench. It is metric so we used the crescent wrench. The 20 minutes included time to get the tools. Had to jerry-rig a special tool to get to the screws behind the strut.

I purchased this box to store my crabbing gear and camping stuff at my lot on the coast. Almost 11 months later, I have noticed (like others) that the top has become warped and some of the screws have pulled away from the lid on one corner. I think a lot of it has to do with it being in the direct sun all day and the drastic weather we've had this past year in Louisiana — first extremely hot then freezing. Even with the warping, I see no signs of water intrusion. I am going to do what one of the other reviewers suggested and add 4" hook & eye closures to the corners to prevent further warping and possibly try some longer screws to replace the ones that have pulled out. Customer service was very responsive and offered a partial refund.
