I'm not sure why so many people struggled with the assembly. While it wasn't something I was used to, the pieces were labeled and the pictures were easy to follow. I was nervous at first to put any pressure on the pieces to get them into place, but it worked out fine. I'd suggest looking closely at the pictures and making sure you have everything lined up properly before committing, because I'd imagine this would be near impossible to get back apart. For all pieces but the lid, I was able to just gently apply pressure after getting the pieces lined up. For the lid, I simply laid it out like the pictures showed and pressed gently with my foot to lock it into place. At the end of the day, it feels a little flimsy to me and I wish it were sturdier feeling. I do like that the lid holds itself up so that I can easily pack items in and remove them. I ordered a cover to help with the water resistance, because I don't expect that this will be very waterproof. At the end of the day, this box is going to work for me, but I wish I would have paid a little less for what it is (If it had been sturdier so that someone could sit on it, for example - I'd be very happy). ... show more

The first few pieces were kind of hard to snap together but after that it was pretty simple to put together. I love that it looks like wicker but it’s plastic and water tight. Assembly of this product is somewhat of a challenge--in particularly when you get to part where you are almost finished and have to install the lid. I took the advice of someone who had previously commented and heated the hinged portions of the lid to make them more pliable. Definitely helped! I would urge you to watch the assembly video, rather than rely only on the written instructions. Had we done so sooner, it would have taken us half the amount of time and lot less SOB's! Don't think that it is totally waterproof and not so sure that I would use it to sit on. After all said and done --looks good and my seven cushions fit in perfectly. ... show more

I purchased a smaller outdoor bin compared to one I bought at Lowe's. It did not fit all my cushions on my patio furniture. Also, lid does not stay closed when we had a bad storm. Lid after not even one week bent. And I know for a fact it was on perfectly and locked in. It's cheap, I will get burned my money and get no replacement. Or it will cost me money to send back which is ridiculous. Don't buy. ... show more
